Well, looks like we've officially made it. Adding to our already stacked selection of skate shoes, we're proud to announce that we're now bringing you "the number one shoe in skateboarding... VANSSSS". We were super hyped when Vans reached out to us about stocking some of their shoes (partly because I've been wanting some Half Cabs for myself for a while now...) and seeing as Vans have basically taken over the whole of Cardiff for the summer with their Black Mass and Shop Riot events, it just made sense for us to team up.

It goes without saying that Vans is probably the most iconic skate brand of all time having been supplying the world with the finest skate shoes since way back in 1966 (that's almost 60 years!), including cult classics like the Old Skool, Half Cab, Era and Authentic to name a few. Likewise, they're team boasts more than their fair share of all-time greats on the team including Jeff Grosso (RIP), Steve Caballero, Anthony Van Engelen, Geoff Rowley, Christian Hosoi, Jeff Cardiel and so many more. Even your Nan's probably heard of Vans, which is something you can't say about most skate brands.

Vans Half Cab Skate Shoe

Probably my personal favourite shoe in the Vans lineup, the Vans Half Cab is a certified classic which spans all corners of skate culture - from its vertical origins to its reimagining by street skaters - and has some pretty cool lore behind it too. The Half Cab is actually Steve Caballero's second pro shoe for Vans, after his original Caballero high-tops, which came about when Steve noticed that a load of street skaters had been cutting the tops of the Caballero's to make a mid-top that's better for all those new-fangled technical flip tricks. This subsequently inspired Vans to adopt these changes themselves and officially offer the aptly-named, mid-top Half Cab all the way back in 1992.

Fast forward to today and the Half Cab is better than ever, making use of all the latest tech Vans has to offer to back up the classic aesthetic with modern performance. The upper features multiple double-stitched panels to add extra layers of protection, including on the toe where it's needed most, with the added benefit of reinforced plastic Duracap underlays to further prevent blow-outs. The sole of the shoe features a vulcanised construction for maximum boardfeel alongside Vans' signature Waffle Grip sole for ultimate grip and durability, which is then backed up by their Pop Cush insole for supreme comfort and impact protection. Yep, it ticks all the boxes.

Vans Gilbert Crockett Skate Shoe

While the Vans Gilbert Crockett skate shoe may not be as rich in history and culture as the Half Cab, it's proven to be one of their most popular models in recent years - and Gilbert Crockett's an absolute beast which is really all you need to know. As to be expected from the skater who's made tastefulness his trademark, the Vans Gilbert Crockett shoe features a classy, minimalist aesthetic, in keeping with Vans' heritage, with a low-top silhouette and Vans iconic stripe down the side. We've got the Vans Gilbert Crockett skate shoe in two colourways: a stylish double black and white, or a vibrant green and white.

Just like the Half Cab, the Vans Gilbert Crockett skate shoe is absolutely loaded with premium tech so your feet can feel like royalty while you're out on the session. The upper features a mixture of suede and canvas for durability and breathability, all further reinforced by Duracap underlays, with an added suede toe cap for extra protection. Alongside the removable Pop Cush insole, the Vans Gilbert Crockett features a Wafflecup construction for additional comfort and support - because you're gonna need some serious support when you've got pop like Gilby.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the full range of Vans skate shoes and buy now from CSC. Or, find out more about the latest skate product on the CSC Blog. Safe.
