Launched in 2011 by Scottish legend and keen photographer, Graham Tait, who combined his passion for skating and photography to create a skate magazine that places heavy emphasis on the photography itself, rather than just the skating.
North Skate Mag stands out from many other magazines due to they emphasis they place on showcasing film photography - an art that is gradually being lost due to the ease and accessibility of digital formats.
While North initially featured mostly Graham's own work after years of he stockpiling photos following the shift to digital photography in most UK mags, the mag now features photographers from across the world with really interesting interviews and features about all things photography.
It's not just about the photos though as North is also loaded up with plenty of top quality interviews (by none other than the legendary skate historian Neil Macdonald) with some of the world's best skaters, including Jack O'Grady, Ben Gore, Leo Romero and Barney Page, and even a recent issue dedicated to a Miami tour with the Theories of Atlantis crew.
Seeing as we're big fans of the mag of course we had to grab some of their latest clobber to do our bit to support this one-of-a-kind magazine. We stock a range of premium quality North Skate Mag clothing including stylish T-shirt and tastefully embroidered caps, but you can always grab a copy of the mag from the shop for free if you're short on cash.
