Spewed from the brain of Polar skate co head honcho Pontus Alv in collaboration with friend and skate-shoe fundamentalist Sami, Last Resort AB is a shoe brand aimed at disrupting the market and trying to take some power back from the corporate giants. With a focus on simple designs and high quality materials, the brand places emphasis on (in their own words) 'Intention to detail' and puts the shoes through rigorous testing before they get the stamp of approval.
Despite only starting in 2020, Last Resort have already proved to be extremely popular with countless skaters celebrating the brand, including the one and only Gifted Hater. The team boasts a strong selection of legends including Chris Milic, Jesse Alba, Nick Rios, David Stenstrom, and even CSC shop dragon, Billy Trick!
Are Last Resort good skate shoes?
This is the question that really matters, and the answer is 'Yes they are good skate shoes'. The original shoes was conceived as a very simple shoes with minimal padding and cushioning to enhance board feel to the max. As you can probably imagine these were pretty marmite, with slappy bros and mini ramp champs giving them the thumbs up and anyone who jumped down things or regularly found themselves landing primo giving them a big thumbs down.
Since then Last Resort have worked on various areas including the sole, the padding and most importantly the insole to make them a better fit for more people without compromising too much on their hardcore original intent. The shoes are quite wide fitting and comfortable for most people with a true to size fit.
They might be new to the scene but we're expecting Last Resort to be around for a while, so get involved if you don't want to be the last person still wearing corporate shoes.VIEW LESS
