In contrast to AVE's no-nonsense, salt of the earth, blue collar skating, Vans have gone all out on the tech for the AVE 2.0 Knit, resulting in one of the most technically impressive shoe we've seen in years. The AVE 2.0 Knit gives mid-2010s era DC a run for their money.

As the name suggests, the Vans AVE 2.0 Knit features a multi-density, technical knit construction - reminiscent of Nike Flyknit and Adidas Primeknit - with zonal areas focussing on flexibility at the top of the foot and collar, denser knit areas for structure and durability as well as open knit areas for breathability.

For even more longevity, the technical knit upper of the AVE 2.0 Knit is coupled with Vans new RapidWeld suede around the forefoot and eyestay, with its seamless, no-sew construction guaranteeing long-lasting durability. This is then further backed up by TPU reinforcements for an extra layer of protection in case you eventually break through the suede.

Where the AVE 2.0 Knit really gets interesting is with its unique sock-like fit which helps lock your feet in for ultimate comfort and responsiveness, which is then doubled up with laces to dial in the perfect fit. But you don't have to worry about the laces ripping as the shoe features a lower eyestay that's reinforced with RapidWeld suede to help keep your laces out of harms way.

Working in tandem with the high-tech upper, the Vans AVE 2.0 Knit also features an equally sophisticated cupsole construction, making use of all the latest tech the Vans laboratory has to offer.

The sole of the AVE 2.0 Knit features Vans' signature UltimateWaffle construction, offering the perfect combination of their SickStick waffle grip, midfoot support and UltraCush cushioning for ultimate comfort and impact protection without sacrificing boardfeel.

As if that's not high-tech enough, the SickStick outsole of the AVE 2.0 Knit also features a zonal warped waffle tread that's denser in high-wear areas for extra durability and more open in the forefoot and heel to promote flexibility and dampening while ensuring optimal boardfeel.

Likewise, the UltimateWaffle construction is backed up by a full-length, molded UltraCush midsole for even more comfort and impact protection. This is then further supported by a TPU midfoot cage, which wraps around the midsole to provide additional support and stability in the midfoot and heel to help lock your feet in and prevent ankle rolls.
