The Week Today, Now - 28/11/2022

Dan Bunn

Bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from the last week, including a Euro tour double whammy, the return of Fourstar, and Gifted Hater vs Tyshawn Jones.

Like a puppet on a string.

What a week for skate gossip. While most skate 'journalism' (for lack of a better word) isn't usually that impactful, the internet's busiest skate nerd, Gifted Hater, has made history by causing IRL consequences from his internet ramblings. After Gifted Hater made a 15 minute video debunking Tyshawn's switch ollie over a picnic table, the self-proclaimed 'General' was then forced into redoing the trick for Instagram in order to silence the Hater. Fair play to TJ for redoing it but the second angle definitely confirmed that the first one was a bit sus.

Fourstar are back and they mean business, teaming up with Huf for a new Huf x Fourstar clothing collection and video that's absolutely stacked with legends from both brands, including Brian Anderson, Tyler Bledsoe, Frank Gerwer and Cory Kennedy. Nice to see CK back on the board!

As if the return of Fourstar isn't enough of a throwback, we've also been treated to a new Element video, and it's actually pretty good. Although most of their old team has left over the past few years you can still enjoy the nostalgia of Brandon Westgate and Mark Appleyard footage alongside newer faces like Jaakko Ojanan and Eetu Toropainen.

The video evidence of Adidas' Free Skate Mag-backed Euro tour is now online for your viewing pleasure with their outrageously hunky team bringing the flavour to London, Paris and Biarritz alongside a very enjoyable piece by Arthur Derrien.

Bye Jeremy's new video, 'Good Riddance', is a pretty solid documentation of all the legends who've recently passed through Paris with the likes of Carlisle Aikens, Thaynan Costa, Marcos Montoya, Jahmir Brown, Erik Herrera and more making an appearance alongside some of the local heads.

Deep Fried are back with another monstrous full-length video featuring 46 minutes of hair-raising downhill action from all your favourite GX skaters like Chris Athans, Jeff Carlyle, Mason Coletti and more.

'lesser' is another bangin' offering from Grant Dawson and as always it features a strong selection of London's edgiest skaters alongside a suitably trendy soundtrack.

Yet another tour video this week, the Girl crew have been getting busy in Europe over the summer for the 'Desesh Mode' tour with Simon Bannerot, Griffin Gass, Rick McCrank and the rest of the gang getting down in Bristol, London, Munich, Stuttgart and beyond.

Two bangin' new shop videos from over the pond this week, including the legend-packed new '97' video from Tampa Bay's Westside Skateshop and the equally bangin' 'Home Video' from Toronto's Blue Tile Lounge.

The Mohkie crew are back with a new video dedicated to the memory of Zane Timpson featuring Braden Hoban, Alex Willms and some posthumous clips of Zane alongside a load of their homies. Big fan of the claymation intro.

The patron saint of jean shorts, Didrik Galasso (AKA Deedz), is back with another hectic part filled with sketchy rails, flowy lines and, of course, plenty of jorts.

TJ Rogers is back with another heavy new part for éS Footwear, taking his signature tech to some of the most legendary spots of San Francisco.

Witness Oscar getting hesh in his native Norfolk in the new video from Heavyweight, 'dusty dreggs'.

More evidence that Noah Mahieu is a name you really should familiarise yourself with.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest skateboard decks, clothing, shoes and more from CSC. Or, check out more of the latest news, videos, and product reviews on the CSC Blog. Safe.
