The Week Today, Now - 29/08/2023
Bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from the last week, including Jake and Curren on FA, Supreme in Korea and a new Gustav banger that definitely isn't the new Sour video.
After years of SLAP speculation, the rumours have finally been confirmed: Jake Anderson and Curren Caples skate for FA, coming through with a promo edit alongside their new teammates; but you'll be sorely disappointed if you were hoping for more than 3 minutes of footage. It's absolutely insane how a brand can have such an amazing team with such abysmal output. Fucking Awesome? More like Fuck All, amiright?!
Gustav Tonnesen is back with a new VX extravaganza which he insists isn't the new Sour Video (which is probably a ploy to prevent honourary Sour skater, Tyler Surrey, from getting in trouble with his actual sponsors). Featuring all your favourite Scandi freaks of nature like Vincent Huhta, Nisse Ingemarsson and of course, Gustav himself, this video will definitely have you repeatedly hitting the rewind button to allow your brain to process what you've just seen.
To celebrate the opening of Supreme's newest store in South Korea, the gang have descended upon Seoul for a bangin' new video filled with all the brooding slow-motion run-ups and face-to-feet yo-yoing you expect from Bill Strobeck (but luckily Johnny Wilson was there to film some clips too). You really can't complain about the lineup though with Troy Gipson, Rowan Zorilla, Kader Sylla, Mark Gonzales, Nik Stain and the rest of your favourite Supreme skaters getting down alongside some of the locals.
Japanese superstar, Yuto Horigome, goes absolutely ballistic in his new Tokyo-based part for Nike SB, complete with massive puffa jackets, even bigger padless airs and some impressively cutty trick selection. Yeah ok, he's fully won me over with this one.
If you missed the premiere in the shop then you're in luck as Tightbooth's latest masterpiece 'LENZ III' is now online for you to view in full! You'd be an absolute sausage to not give this one a watch.
Reigning King of iPhone clips, Jesse Alba, is back with another delightful, homie-infused edit featuring backyard pool clips filmed by Lance Mountain, mind-boggling low-impact NBDs and a whole load of legendary cameos. Bravo.
Everyone's favourite 'homo company', There Skateboards, are back with a bangin' new video featuring all your faves including Marbie, Chandler Burton, Jeff Cheung and Kien Caples, all backed up by an original Cher Strauberry soundtrack. Good shit!
Get your nostalgia fix with the 'Out of Touch' new Cambridge scene video from Charlie Foulkes which pays homage to the videos of yesteryear with a load of bangin' footage from local legends like Leo Stewart, Louis Nixon, Joe Lewis and Charlie himself.
Whole load of good shit from the Politics lads as they welcome Herbert Brown into the fold in their new 'Introducing II' video, featuring plenty of exceptionally tasteful skateboarding and an absolute belter of a soundtrack.
'Going once, going twice' is a very enjoyable Philadelphia-based number courtesy of Fionn McLaughlin showcasing a load of lesser-known local talent as they make the most of what the city's iconic streets have to offer.
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest clothing and skateboard decks from CSC. Or, check out more of the latest news, videos, and product reviews on the CSC Blog. Safe.
