Read and Destroy Book Routes to Rad article

Published between 1987 and 1995 under the editorship of Tim Leighton-Boyce, Read and Destroy (R.a.D) first evolved out of the BMX magazine, 'BMX Action Bike', before gradually making the transition into a fully-fledged skate mag. Over the years, R.a.D established itself as one of the leading UK skateboard magazines, documenting a load of the best skaters both inside and outside the UK. However, all good things must come to the end and the mag ended up moving to a new publisher, resulting in the core team leaving, before it was eventually swallowed up by Sidewalk.

Read and Destroy Book Skateboarding Through a British Lens

Edited by Dan Adams, the new Read and Destroy Book is filled with 272 full-colour pages of premium skateboard history from the R.a.D archive. As the title suggests the Read and Destroy book showcases skateboarding through a British lens between 1978 and 1995, capturing the death and rebirth of skateboarding as it evolved from a fringe subculture to a globally-recognised cornerstone of extreme sports and street culture.
