The Week Today, Now - 27/11/2023

Dan Bunn

Bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from the last week, including a double helping of Gustav, Magenta getting brutal and Steve-O getting pranked.

Heitor switch frontside heelflipping in the babushka headscarf - is there anything the man can't pull off?! #trendwatch2024. Shot by Clement Le Gall.

It doesn't get much better than Heitor Da Silva and Gustav Tonnesen in the same video but these two are just the tip of the iceberg in Pekka Lovas' new video, 'Balancing Act', with its absolutely ludicrous levels of Scandinavian stylishness alongside other international adidas legends. You can also check out an interview with Pekka alongside the video to find out about his previous life as the Rodney Mullen of yo-yoing amongst other things.

Yet another banger of a video from Shari White this week, 'gleek/blueberries' features an impeccable assortment of North American leji including Nelly Morville, Dustin Henry, Breana Geering, Gabe Thompson, Diego Todd, Nick Michel, Leon Chapdelaine and countless others bringing their own unique tastes to this flavoursome melting pot.

North Wales' finest videographer, Yannick Hammer, has ventured deep into some of the region's most historically deprived areas for his new video, 'tywyll', hitting up a load of new spots that are only possible due to the social progression that has occurred. Be sure to check out his Insta post about the video for some extra insight into the concept.

Yet another top-tier video from Love Öhling, 'CLICK BAIT' features Mateo Bergil, Eric Hedberg and personal favourites, Vincent Huhta and Axel Berggren, bringing their unique flavours to a variety of spots around Europe. I can never get enough Axel footy.

Dose up on East Coast flavour with Sam Zentner's 'Chrome Zone' featuring all your favourite NYC heads like Max Palmer, Cyrus Bennett, Grady Smith and Mark Humienik alongside Bust Crew legends like Ty Beall and Daniel Ravenal. That Steve-O cameo is top-tier.

Experience the world's most talented friendship group in action as Louie Lopez, Mason Silva, Jake Anderson and Curren Caples hit the streets to celebrate their new signature Spitfire pro wheels with Ryan Lee behind the lens.

Witness Evgeny Nikolaev, Ste Kaveh and Alexey Krasniy weave their way around Barcelona in Chris Emery's new 'Sailing Ships' video, alongside some typically bonkers Gustav clips. It's been a good week for Gustav fans (although, realistically, if you aren't a Gustav fan you might want to have your head checked).

Magenta have jumped on the brutalist architecture trend in their latest video, 'Brutalista', as the crew make the most of some of France's most oppressive-looking spots. Very dope.

Dashawn Jordan has wasted no time in getting stuck in with the rest of the April Skateboards crew, linking up with Shane O'Neill, Yuto Horigome, Guy Mariano and the rest of the gang in their new 'Turbo Green' video.

It's a sad day for any remaining VX purists as even Shawn Powers has now seemingly been forced to make the switch to HD in his new part filmed by Austin Bristow, 'SP the HD Ghost'.

Whole lotta G shit in the new DGK video, 'Amen', featuring Will Mazzari, Stevie Williams, Colin Slew, Marquise Henry and a bangin' last part from Brian Reid.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest clothing and skateboard decks from CSC. Or, check out more of the latest news, videos, and product reviews on the CSC Blog. Safe.
