The Week Today, Now 12/08/2024

Dan Bunn

Bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from the last week, including Thaynan Costa's Yardsale pro part, Internet Birthday in New Zealand and Gifted Hater vs Tim Pool.

Fulfilling his role as the Dark Knight of skateboarding, Gifted Hater has waged war against right-wing crony and general dickhead, Tim Pool, after Tim got kooked by a local DIY and proceeded to kook himself even further by buying the land the park was built on. After Joa called out Pool, it's now sparked a full-on culture war with the beanie-wearing turbo-neek lashing out at commie skaters and the 'woke left' much to Joa's enjoyment. Safe to say this absolute gimp has no place in skateboarding and Gifted Hater is once again doing God's work.

Catch a load of your favourite GX-affiliated SF heads in 'the james vid', packed with a top-tier soundtrack and over 45 minutes of San Francisco street surfing from the likes of Chris Athans, Mason Coletti and Josh McLaughlin (whose last part is well worth sticking around for) alongside a load of the local homies. Seriously feel good vibes in this one!

While the dust has barely settled from his last video, Geoff Campbell is back once again with another new episode of his 'Internet Birthday' series, following all your favourite Aussies as they head over to Dunedin, New Zealand to hit up the city's bangin' red brick plaza and a load of crusty suburban spots.

Celebrating Thaynan Costa's new pro board, Yardsale have treated us to another one of their visually excellent videos featuring the whole squad working their magic at a variety of European destinations before Thaynan shuts it down with a load of absolutely bonkers tech.

After Magnus Bordewick's part from the other week, Sensi Skateboards are back with another new offering, this time from Swedish ledge dancer, Gunes Ozdogan, as he showcases his extensive repertoire of lesser-seen ledge tech with a load of masterfully executed two-trick lines.

Helsinki's Beyond Store have just dropped their 5th full-length, 'JONI', and as you'd expect it's absolutely packed with Finnish legends, including Aleksi Suovaara, Eetu Toropainen and Samu Karvonen, as they bring that signature Scandi creativity to the streets of the US, Spain, Estonia and, of course, at home in Finland.

Converse CONS are the latest brand to be given the Thrasher Weekend treatment as their stacked squad heads to Kansas City to hit up a load of local spots and a hectic farmyard DIY with a depressing lack of Jake Johnson clips despite some tantalising BGPs.

Gang International have come through with 10 minutes of crust worship in their new Baltimore-based banger, 'CMON YO', featuring Josh Ferguson, Chris Teta, Yoon Sun Shin and the rest of the squad bringing the hype to a load of back street gems.

One for the vert heads: Elliot Sloan brings those Skate 3 Super Ultra Mega Park vibes in his bonkers new Monster Energy-fuelled part, laying down a load of gravity disrespecting vertical manoeuvres at his backyard compound.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest clothing and skateboard decks from CSC. Or, check out more of the latest news, videos, and product reviews on the CSC Blog. Safe.
