Well I guess the best place to start is with the cover, right? Thrasher Magazine Issue 515 boasts a jaw-dropping cover from cult favourite, pop powerhouse and all-around hunk, Antonio Durao. 'Tonio has made history with an absolutely unthinkable display of ambidextrous rail tekkers, stomping what has got to be the world's first switch treflip noseblunt on a handrail! Gotta put some respect on the photographer's name too; Jared Sherbert has done extremely well to capture such a mind-boggling trick which is no small feat! You can pretty much hear the catch in the photo.
While being absolutely bonkers in its own right, keen skate historians will also be well aware that the trick pays tribute to Antonio's Skate Mental teammate and certified legend of the game, Eric Koston, who did treflip noseblunt on the same rail for his ender in Girl's seminal video, 'Yeah Right!'. Now, exactly 20 years after 'Yeah Right!' was released, Antonio has paid his respects (or disrespects) to Koston by doing the trick SWITCH. Do NOT show this to an old head! It will seriously damage their mental health.
Inside Issue 515, Thrasher have treated us to some bangin' new articles about the latest goings-on in the skateboard world, including a feature about the recent chaos of Swampfest; an interview with Girl's newest pro, Rowan Davis; a piece on Atlantic Drift's Bangkok trip (looking forward to seeing the footage from this!); and an in-depth look at the Vans trip to Australia from their new video, 'U Reckon'. Plus, as always, you can also catch up on all the usual features like the Mail Drop, People I've Known (this time with legendary filmer, Daniel Wheatley) and Zounds interviews with legendary musicians: Too $hort, Paramore and The Chats.
