Product Spotlight - Magenta Fleeces and Griptape

We know skaters are a cuddly bunch, so we've got a bangin' range of cosy new fleeces from Magenta to give you an extra reason to snuggle up to the homies at the spot. Not that you need a reason.

It's no secret that the French are pretty hot on their fashion, and these fleeces live up to France's reputation for premium couture with their top-quality construction and tasteful design. Optimised for cruising through the streets of Bourdeaux, these premium fleeces are perfect for keeping you warm on those lengthy night sessions, or just lurking at the spot and enjoying a nice bottle of wine. With a number of different options available from polar fleece to sherpa, and quarter-zip to full-zip, Magenta have got you covered whether you're looking for something sleek to help keep you warm, or you want to look like a full-blown teddy bear. But just be warned, your significant other will almost definitely be stealing it if you get one, so you might want to get two just in case.

The least fleecy fleece out of all the fleeces is the 'Alpin' quarter-zip in black which features standard polar fleece throughout, embroidered with Magenta's iconic plant logo on the chest, and featuring an inner lining for double the warmth and double the comfort. On the utility side of things, the 'Alpin' fleece features dual side pockets for storing miscellaneous paraphernalia or providing some much needed warmth for your extremities, as well as a small chest pocket which is basically pointless unless you tend to carry around buttons or something like that. Maybe you could put some loose change in there or a couple of filters, or perhaps even a small bag of something that you may want to keep hidden. I mean the possibilities are endless. Not really endless though because it is a very small pocket but I'm sure you can find something to put in there. Whether it's useful or not though, it does provide an aesthetic function with the green providing a nice bit of contrast to the surrounding black and the gold Magenta logo above. It almost looks a bit like a little green pot for the plant embroidered above it, or one of those tubes Mario jumps into, which is pretty neat if you like those sorts of things.

A slightly fleecier fleece than the 'Alpin', the 'MTN Sherpa' Jacket features a mixture of polar fleece and fluffy sherpa for the perfect balance of comfort and cosiness, as well as a mesh inner lining for extra insulation. Full disclosure, the sherpa neck region feels lovely on your cheeks, especially if you're lacking in the beard department. With a frontal full-zip you haven't got to worry about messing your hair up pulling a quarter-zip over your head, and the dual side pockets also feature handy zipping mechanisms to help protect your lint and pocket change from being stolen or accidentally misplaced. There's even a zipped pocket on the inside if you're really into pockets. The 'MTN Sherpa' jacket comes in two different colourways: full black for the goths, or a lovely beige/green variant if you're partial to a bit of colour. The Gaffa forgot about the black one though so hopefully that'll be online soon, otherwise you'll just have to come and check it out in-store. Soz.

Last but not least, the fleeciest fleece of all the fleeces is without a doubt the 'MTN' quarter-zip crew. This bad boy is so fluffy that if someone snaps a grainy photo of you on a prehistoric Nokia phone, you may get mistaken for Big Foot. People will be stopping you on the street and asking to stroke you, but not in a weird way. With a quarter-zip neck and full sherpa construction, the 'MTN' crew is guaranteed to keep you as warm and toasty as Luke Skywalker or Leonardo DiCaprio seeking refuge in the still-warm corpse of a beast of burden. Just without all the gore and unpleasantness. As well as being fluffier than a battalion of Pomeranians, the 'MTN' crew also has a load of useful features like dual side pockets and an adjustable hem drawstring. But who even cares? Just look at how fluffy it is.

Alongside the fleeces, we also grabbed a couple sheets of designer griptape with some bangin' camera-themed designs. I'm not a camera nerd but the 'Camera' grip looks like some kinda medium format film camera but don't quote me on that. You don't have to be a nerd to know what's on the 'VX' griptape though seeing as it sports an image of skating's most beloved camera, the Sony VX1000. So if you're an avid photographer, or you just want to appear like one, Magenta have got you sorted with these bangin' sheets of custom griptape.
