What is Ahead Worldwide?

Ahead Worldwide is a brand-spanking new, skater-owned headwear company that was founded in 2021 by one of the UK's most legendary skaters: Danny Wainwright. Living in Barcelona at the time, Wainwright found his creative juices overflowing while stuck inside his apartment during the COVID lockdown - hence their tagline, 'Born From Necessity'. Run solely by Wainwright himself, Ahead produce a wide range of headwear and softgoods and have quickly become known for their high-quality, luxury products backed up by clean, tasteful aesthetics.

For the uneducated, Danny Wainwright is UK skateboarding royalty known for his powerful style, creative spot selection and inhuman levels of pop. Both on and off the board, Wainwright has a list of achievements that few others can compare to having skated for Vans for over 20 years (before becoming their team manager); co-founded Bristol's Fifty-Fifty with Justin Sydenham in 1997; as well as doing graphic design projects for brands like Powell Peralta, Vans, Eastpak and more. He even held the official world record for World's Highest Ollie for a whopping 11 years before the record was finally topped by Aldrin Garcia in 2011. Safe to say the man's a legend.

Danny Wainwright isn't the only savage skater involved with the brand mind; the Ahead Worldwide team also features Barca locals like Brazilian tech-lord, Rodrigo Pêtêrsen, and the equally talented, Lex Van Der Does, who both bring some serious flavour to the brand. Seeing as Ahead is still in its early days we're looking forward to seeing more videos from them as well as hopefully seeing more skaters join the team - and since Wainwright was the team manager for Vans, it's safe to assume he's got a good eye for talent.
