Never mind the Olympics... Here's the Plaza Comp.

It's that time again. September's right around the corner which means only one thing: the return of our legendary Plaza Comp! We'll be heading down the bay for a day filled with good times, prizes and plenty of skating.

The 12th annual CSC Plaza Competition (yeah it's been 12 years since the last public skatepark in Cardiff was built...) will be taking place on the 11th of September at the Cardiff Bay Barrage Skate Plaza - located on the Cardiff Bay Barrage, next to the Cardiff Sailing Centre and Children's Playground.

We'll be kicking things of at 12PM sharp(ish) so that we can fit everything in. The fun-filled day will be split into five action-packed categories: Under 16s, Over 16s, Girls, Sponsored and Best Trick. If you want to get involved then make sure you get down nice and early so you have time to sign up.

Whether you're skating or spectating, the day's gonna have plenty of incredible skating for you to enjoy. We'll have some of the best skaters from across Wales bringing the hammers in the Sponsored category - as long as they manage to stay off the booze long enough - so make sure you come down and watch even if you aren't skating.

As always we'll have tunes provided by Cardiff's finest events company, Enthusiasm Events, who'll be spewing out a steady stream of bangers all day long to help facilitate the good vibes. So come on down, bring a picnic and some beers, and take part in some good old fashioned skateboard-related fun.
