Unless you're a full-send surf brah who rides barefoot, throwin' shakas and screaming 'YEEEEWWW!' then shoes are essential for skateboarding. You can skate in anything but the best shoes offer grippy soles, flexible uppers, and enough support for the type of skating you're into.
