Video Daze - Borneo Function
Witness CSC Shop Dragons, Conor Charleson and Don Irfan, living their best lives in Borneo and Malaysia for Grey Skate Mag's new 'Borneo Function' edit shot by Andrea Dupre.
After their 2023 Malaysia trip for 'Hot As Hell', the dynamic duo of Conor Charleson and Don Irfan have teamed up once again, leaving the mainland behind and heading to the island of Borneo for Grey Skate Mag's new 'Borneo Function' video (bonus points for the niche 'Peep Show' reference). Hitting up Kota Kinabalu on the north coast before heading to Kuching on the west with a smattering of mainland Malaysian clips thrown in for good measure, the lads link up with a load of local legends including Porock Luis, Azhan Firdaus and Koya Miyasaka with a guest appearance from fellow UK lej, Casey Brown.
Despite planning the trip with the aim of fulfilling his David Attenborough-esque zoological fantasies, logistical issues and Conor's natural keenness resulted in skateboarding taking priority - but hey, we're not complaining. Given the disappointing lack of orangutans, Conor instead turned his attention towards hunting down every single bit of steeply inclined terrain the island has to offer, seeking out a load of crusty banks, wallride and hips with the help of the local lads.
Alongside the video, Grey have also come through with a trio of interviews, chatting to local pro, Porock Luis, and filmmaker, Brandon Joel, for an inside look at what the skate scene's like on an island that's mainly known for its wildlife. Likewise they've also got an interview with Conor who chats about his motivations for the trip as well as offering some tasty behind-the-scenes gossip, including rancid jackfruit hospitalisations, country singalongs in a Borneo Rednecks bar and Don doing his best to turn down the advances of a 21 year old meth dealer.
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest clothing and skateboard decks from CSC. Or, watch more of the best skate videos on the CSC Blog. Safe.
