The time has finally come: after years of anticipation and months of hype, Andrew Reynolds' first pro model shoe for New Balance is available now and it's here to shake up the skate shoe game forever. Combining some of the most advanced technology we've ever seen with one of New Balance's most beloved running shoe silhouettes, the New Balance Numeric Andrew Reynolds 933 offers up next-level comfort and performance in a timeless Dad Shoe aesthetic for the ultimate skate shoe that'll put your day-to-day runners out of a job. Find out more below!

New Balance Numeric Andrew Reynolds 933 Signature Model

Despite already having a reputation for making some of the finest footwear in the game, New Balance have pushed the limits of skate shoe technology further than ever before for the Reynolds 933, incorporating innovations from their running and basketball shoes alongside all their tried-and-tested skate technology to help take the shoe to a whole new level. This isn't your average skate shoe, but then Andrew Reynolds isn't your average skateboarder, and living up to his infamously high standards is no easy task - as shown in New Balance's recent 'Regarding Reynolds' documentary about the production of the shoe.

Not messing around when it comes to the upper, the Reynolds 933 takes inspiration from New Balance's most iconic running shoe series, the New Balance 990s, for that timeless Dad Shoe aesthetic that New Balance are known for with some added tweaks to make them suitable for skating. While the upper may look almost identical to the 990s - even featuring a classic runner toe for those old-school vibes - New Balance have added in a triple-stitched toe-box and adhered rubber underlay for long-lasting durability and flick where it's needed most.

And it's not just the upper that takes inspiration from elsewhere as New Balance have incorporated a diverse range of technology into the sole of the 933 to bring some of that premium sporting performance into skateboarding. Drawing from basketball technology, the Reynolds 933 is one of the only skate shoes to feature a midfoot shank plate, which offers up added stability to prevent ankle rolls, better energy transfer when popping and extra protection against landing primo so that you can kickflip with confidence.

However, the New Balance Numeric Andrew Reynolds 933 doesn't just borrow from other sports as the shoe also pioneers New Balance's groundbreaking Abzorb midsole, marking a significant step forwards in skate shoe technology. Made using two different densities of foam - which have been bonded without the use of glue allowing them to fuse together naturally for unparallelled comfort - the Abzorb midsole features stiffer foam around the sidewalls to help support your foot and keep it stable when landing awkwardly alongside softer foam through the centre to ensure maximum comfort and boardfeel.

From the upper to the outsole, it's clear a whole lot of care and attention has gone into making this shoe but it's not all about the technology as New Balance have also added in a load of wholesome personal touches paying tribute to The Boss' legacy. From the number 933 - referencing New Balance's legendary 990 series which the shoe takes inspiration from as well as Reynolds' obsession with doing things in threes - to his daughter's drawing of a cloud debossed on the heel, the Reynolds 933 is packed with loads of easter eggs and references to celebrate Reynolds' life, resulting in one of the most personal pro shoes we've ever seen.
