The Week Today, Now - 21/02/2022

Dan Bunn

Bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from the last week, including Baker's new video, Classic Grip on tour, and Ray Barbee's Memory Screen.

‘Look After Your Habibis’ is a lovely new edit out of Scotland from Jamal Jabbar. Starring the likes of Rory Muirhead, Cameron Lenton, Neil Kellas, and more, smooth out those brain wrinkles with this incredibly pleasing offering - it’s like if Animal Crossing made skate videos.

We'll be screening the new video from Poetic Collective, 'Clouds', at 18:30 on the 25th February. Come down for beers and good times.

‘Set For Life’ is a sick 10-minute clip filmed in San Francisco with a wide variety of legends on display, including Chris Athans, Roger Krebs, Brian Powderly, Ben Gore, Ty Beall, and more. Josh McLaughlin’s part was particularly enjoyable with the Taxi Driver-esque soundtrack (the soundtrack to the whole video is on point as well) and Josh’s effortless flow.

Baker have released a new 25-minute video with possibly the least inventive name ever. ‘Baker Video with Andrew, Zach and Rowan’ features full parts from, you guessed it, Andrew Reynolds, Zach Allen, and Rowan Zorilla as well as some montage clips from the rest of the Baker gang. Reynolds might be The Boss but not even he gets a pass for reverting straight after that switch tre, Ricky Oyola would not be impressed.

Ludo Gordon has a sick new ‘Venture Minute’ part out filled with loads of hectic mannies and stylish manoeuvres. It should really be called ‘Venture 2 Minutes’ but I guess that doesn’t have the same ring to it.

The legends over at Nottingham's Forty Two Skate Shop dropped their new video, 'BLOWOUT', in honour of Skate Shop Day with a wide variety of different legends including Tommy May, Alex Hallford, Jordan Thackeray, Joe Allen, and more.

Extremely eye-pleasing skating from Marca Barbier in his new '15 Times' part. Watch Marca as he cruises around the Parisian streets and pinches his way through some of the weirdest rails the city has to offer.

Ray Barbee is the latest OG to be given the Memory Screen treatment, with a new 7-minute edit of some of Ray’s greatest clips, including loads of insane 360 kickflip variations and some signature no-complies.

After Vague teased us with Neil Herrick’s part last week, Brandon Stepanow’s ‘Open Container’ is now up in full online with parts from Eric Swick, Picture Show’s Jasper Stieve, Noah Singleton, and leading Richie Jackson impersonator, Will Nieves.

DC rounds up the troops for the third and final instalment of their NorthUnda series, featuring rippers from all over the globe including Evan Smith, Masaki and Shintaro Hongo, Jaakko Ojanen, Carlos Iqui, Will Marshall, Wes Kremer and more. The Wes footy is an absolute treat.

The Classic Griptape boys have come through with another bangin' feel-good edit, 'Salmon of the Year', this time documenting their trip through the States with some hilarious B-roll and plenty of hammers from Will Marshall.

Brianna Delaney opens up about her experience of transitioning as a skateboarder in 'Skating Through Transition', alongside some tasty clips of her skating, including her signature buttery back tails.

Bobaj has come through with part two of his ‘Anahí’ series featuring loads of Euro legends tearing up the streets of Switzerland, including Simon Perrotet, Oliver Weismantel, and Darkstar OG, Sven Kilchenmann.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the latest skateboard decks, clothing, and shoes and buy now from CSC, or check out more skate-related content on the CSC Blog. Safe.
