The New Balance Numeric 574 Vulc is one of the newest additions to New Balance's impeccable range of skate shoes, taking one of their most well-known running shoe silhouettes, the New Balance 574, and reimagining it as a skate shoe. The New Balance 574 is without a doubt 'the most New Balance shoe ever' so it just makes sense that they'd give it the skate shoe treatment.

To honour the iconic design of the original 574, the New Balance Numeric 574 Vulc features the same signature asymmetric toe box to give that unmistakable look-down. Despite the old-school look, the toe-box of the 574 Vulc has been reinforced with a rubber underlay to provide an extra layer of durability where it's needed most to help it withstand the demands of modern skateboarding.

While the upper looks the same, the sole is where the New Balance Numeric 574 Vulc really sets itself apart by replacing the original runner sole with a vulcanised construction to provide ultimate boardfeel and grip. The sole also features New Balance's signature vaulted heel design - pioneered in the New Balance 272 skate shoe - which flexes on impact to help prevent heel bruise without adding extra bulk so you can stomp your tricks with confidence.

Alongside this vaulted heel design, the New Balance Numeric 574 Vulc also features a polyurethane lasting board beneath their patented molded Ortholite insole for additional comfort and support so you can keep skating for longer. Despite the 574 Vulc's iconic retro aesthetic, New Balance have made sure to include all the latest tech to provide the modern skate performance you need.
