Following on from the success of the 480, Tom Knox 600 and Reynolds 933, New Balance Numeric have dug deep in their archives once again for another new skate shoe inspired by their legendary sporting heritage. This time, they've thrown things back to the '90s with the new-and-improved New Balance Numeric 770, bringing this iconic silhouette into the 21st Century with a load of the finest skate technology their lab has to offer. Find out more below!

First released in the 1990s during one of New Balance's more adventurous eras of research and development, the New Balance 770 has a rich and varied history with it first being intended as a cross-trainer shoe before being adopted by tennis players due to its unrivalled stability. Now, thirty years later, New Balance have revived the 770, taking its best qualities, like its versatility and stability, and ramping them up for next-level skating performance.

New Balance Numeric 770 VWX Grey / Black

Given its original form already had a reputation for stability, New Balance have cranked that up to eleven in the new-and-improved NM770, adding in a load of state-of-the-art features to keep your foot locked-in and supported. These features include a molded PU performance insole and C-CAP midsole for lightweight cushioning and impact protection without sacrificing boardfeel, as well as a refined TPU arm to keep your heel locked-in.

New Balance Numeric 770 YZZ Black / Grey Pair

Pushing the limits of skate technology even further, the New Balance Numeric 770 also features an all-new Integrated Counter Reinforcer Footframe System (that's a mouthful) which wraps around the heel and the midsole to offer custom stability based off of how much weight is put through it. This means that when more weight is put through the shoe, like when you're taking heavy impacts, it'll offer more stability to help prevent ankle rolls.

New Balance Numeric 770 VWX Grey / Black Sole

But of course it's not just the sole that's loaded with tech and the upper also features similar skate-oriented improvements. We all know durability is one of the most important things to consider when picking a skate shoe and the New Balance Numeric 770 has that covered with a double-layered toe-cap, complete with a TPU underlay, for long-lasting durability where you need it most, as well as the option of hidden internal lace loops to keep your laces protected.

New Balance Numeric 770 VWX Grey / Black Toe

For this first drop, we've got the NM770 in two stylish colourways to choose from. First up, the flagship New Balance Numeric 770 VWX stays true to the shoe's '90s roots with its unique Grey / Black colourway featuring Purple and Green accents to match those old-school tech vibes. Alternatively, the New Balance Numeric 770 YZZ takes a more classical approach with its sleek Black / Grey colourway which is perfect if you prefer a more subtle aesthetic.

New Balance Numeric 770 YZZ Black / Grey Tongue Label

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the full range of New Balance Numeric skate shoes and buy now from CSC. Or, find out more about the latest skate product on the CSC Blog. Safe.
