Video Daze - red white and blue

Dan Bunn

Hop in the van for a coast-to-coast road trip across the US-of-A with four of the finest names of the modern era in this instant classic from Jacob Palumbo and Will Miles.

Despite what a lot of people would like to believe, skateboarding does in fact have a lot of rules - both written and unwritten - including what tricks are acceptable, how not to push and what should or shouldn't be waxed. Whether or not you believe in the legality of double flips or pushing mongo, there's one rule that near enough everybody can agree on and that's: 'If it's been posted on Free Skate Mag, it's gonna be good'.

Taking their reputation as paragons of taste to a whole new level, the legends at Free have treated us to a very early contender for video of the year in the shape of Jacob Palumbo and Will Miles' 'red white and blue'. Rounding up some of the finest talent of the modern generation, the video follows the crew on a cross-country odyssey through the US as they steer clear of the beaten path in favour of lesser-seen spots in some of the States' less fashionable destinations.

Featuring Dylan Jaeb, Eetu Toropainen, Vincent Huhta and Cyprus Blanco, 'red white and blue' feels very much like a modern day equivalent to the early Transworld videos, showcasing four of the most exciting skaters currently on the come-up. From Dylan's immaculate, classically-trained style to Vincent's more erratic, wild card approach, 'red white and blue' ticks all the boxes of what you want to see from a skate video with seriously stylish editing to match. If fantasy skateboard teams were a thing this would pretty much be my dream lineup.

Alongside the video, they've also treated us to a one-of-a-kind article which offers up a closer look at the lads' adventure through a series of Google reviews for places they visited along the way. From 1-star reviews for spooky petrol stations and overpriced weed shops to 5-star reviews for trip-altering fingerboard shop and good-looking coffee shop staff; this isn't your average tour article but, by the sounds of it, this wasn't your average tour.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest clothing and skateboard decks from CSC. Or, watch more of the best skate videos on the CSC Blog. Safe.
