The Week Today, Now - 27/02/2023

Bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from the last week, including unoriginal video names, galaxy-brained trick selection and a double dose of curb-crushing.

After Friday's chaotic premiere, the new Swales x Freestyle full-length banger, 'Waspz', is now online in full for your viewing pleasure, featuring 30 solid minutes of curb crushing, bowler hat juggling, wasp-oriented silliness that's guaranteed to brighten up your day. Smashed it boys!

While the new 'Vans Video' lacks a creative name, it more than makes up for it with some seriously spicy bangers courtesy of Aidan Mackey, Etienne Gagne, Ben Kadow, Diego Todd, Rowan Zorilla and the rest of the boys. Wouldn't have put the two together but ET skating to Title Fight was bloody lovely.

The ever-productive Baghead crew are back with yet another full-length offering, 'Satan', this time featuring a Flip-esque claymation intro followed by 40 minutes of hammers from all the boys, including Myles Rushforth, Dead Dave, Seb Batty and more.

More curb-based goodness: watch Peckham's iconic Queen's Road curbs get a thorough pasting in Will Beall's new video, 'Nightcake', featuring London-based legends like Jack Bellamy, Jason Goode and even a brief Reid Allen cameo for the local angle. Good shit.

Traditionalists look away now, the Japanese Super Rat, Kento Yoshioka, is back with enough no-comply wizardry and general circus-trickery to make your average SLAP user have a seizure. Might not be for everyone but some of it's pretty bonkers and at least he doesn't wear a helmet...

More absurd goodness: expand your mind with four minutes of Teddy Seeley wizardry courtesy of Grimple Stix. I'm not really sure how but this guy's simultaneously the best and worst skater of all time and it's fuckin' incredible.

Naquan Rollings' lens is always a constant source of bangers and his latest offering is no exception, this time featuring Tyson Peterson, Christian Henry, Tanner Burzinski and countless other modern legends delivering the goods. 

Plenty of choice manoeuvres in Tanner Lawler's new part for Pepper Griptape including some very rare ledge-to-manual combos that we'd very much like to se more of.

Treat your eyes to 12 minutes of classically-trained hammers from Leo Romero is his new 'Skater' part (clearly hasn't been a good week for naming skate videos). You can't argue with hefty pop, lengthy grinds and speedy lines.

Another week, another banger of a part from some Danish bloke you've never heard of. Elite chef Tobias ‘Bisse’ Christoffersen's new 'Bissemayn Canapé' part proves that his food ain't the only thing packin' serious flavour.

Joey O'Brien and Chris Mulhern have joined forces once again for his new Thunder Trucks part, with Joey laying down hammers and weaving well thought out lines through the streets of Philly.

Ain't gonna say no to three minutes of Finnish superstars, Eetu Toropainen and Jaakko Ojanen, running laps of their local indoor park. Another solid addition to Place's 'Eat Your Veggies' series.
