The Week Today, Now - 23/05/2022

Dan Bunn

Bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from the last week, including new Limosine video, Casper Brooker vs. Southbank, and loads of Philly goodness. This one's a big one.

The Limosine crew have blessed the internet with a new video celebrating Hugo Boserup’s recent jump to the pro ranks, featuring hammers from the whole gang (including an incredible Nelly Morville section) and a hectic last part from Hugo. Definitely one of the most enjoyable brands in the game right now.

Atlantic Drift legend, Casper Brooker, has come through with an absolute barnburner of a one spot part, laying waste to Southbank with a load of insane manual combos, previously undiscovered routes, and impeccable three trick lines.

Enjoy good times, goofball tricks, and general weirdness in the incredible new Grimple Stix video starring Frank Gerwer and Teddy Seeley (who’s probably gonna be your new favourite skater) alongside star-studded cameos from some of skating’s biggest legends like Ishod Wair, Grant Taylor, Mason Silva, and many, many more. Probably wouldn’t watch this while tripping though, it’d probably push you over the edge.

It’s been a seriously good week for fans of DC Lynxs, Philadelphia, and gangsta-ass skating, with 30 whole minutes of Philly-based G shit in AJ Mac’s new full-length, ‘Your Move’. Featuring Jahmir Brown, Kevin Bilyeu, John Shanahan, Chris Falo, and of course Josh Kalis, it’s pretty hard to believe the year is 2022 and not 1999. Chris Falo’s definitely a name to remember as well, he’s got an absolute behemoth of a part with a whole section filmed at Muni. Respect.

The GX boys are back doing what they do best in their new clip, ‘Shimmy Ya Raw’, with GX OGs like Sean Greene and Chris Athans absolutely tanking it down SF hills. Who doesn’t like it raw.

GX OG, Jeff Carlyle, also has a hectic new part for Spitfire with loads of hill-based hammers if the GX clip didn't satisfy your SF cravings.

Witness the unique approach of the one and only Jamal Smith in his new ‘Adimatic’ part celebrating his pro shoe on Adidas, featuring unconventional tricks like heelflip front blunt, fakie frontside 360 shuvs, and of course tornado spins.

Fellow Philadelphian, Jahmir Brown, has also come through with a new part celebrating his new DC Lynx shoe, in which he hits up some of the most iconic spots around the world, including Lloyds, Southbank, Pier 7, New York’s Courthouse, and of course his local, Muni.

Not sure what’s in the water supply over there but we’ve been treated to another absolute belter out of Finland this week with SLP’s new video, ‘Kari’. Featuring legends like Eniz Fazliov, Marius Syvanen, and Madars Apse alongside a load of local Helsinki boys, the Finns are showing no sign of slowing down on this massive wave of productivity.

One of the all-time greats, Guy Mariano, has just joined the Dickies roster, blessing us with a minute of typically mind-blowing footage in the process.

Jake Hayes puts his monstrous pop to work in his new part for New Balance, laying down tasteful hammers with impeccable style.

Sag enthusiast and purveyor of the finest noseslides, Etienne Gagne, has just turned PRO AF for Alltimers. Extremely well-deserved and the graphics are top tier.

Brazilian Olympic sensation, Rayssa Leal, has also just been turned PRO AF for April which hopefully means she's actually going to hit the streets and put a part out.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the latest skate product and buy now from CSC. Or, check out more of the latest news, videos, and product reviews on the CSC Blog. Safe.
