The Week Today, Now - 05/12/2022

Dan Bunn

Bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from the last week, including a three-way SOTY showdown, new Jante clip and Davide's manual madness.

Fat Bill and the gang are back in Supreme's third full-length video, 'Play Dead', featuring a heavy lineup of Supreme OGs and fresh talent. Load of standout clips from Troy Gipson, Vince Touzery, Caleb Barnett, Nik Stain and Ben Kadow, and of course you gotta put some respect on Tyshawn's absolutely psycho last part. Fair fuckin' play.

Hot on Tyshawn's heels, Nyjah Huston has also dropped another new part this week that's slightly more watchable than the Ty Evans one but still absolutely packed with downright offensive fits. His ability to present insane skateboarding in an entirely unenjoyable format is genuinely impressive at this point.

If (like me) you're already sick of the upsettingly athletic SOTY race, then the new 'Jante' clip may just be the remedy you need to soothe your aching soul. The filming's definitely a palate cleanser after the visual assault of Fat Bill's zoom fest and you can't beat that tasteful Scandinavian trick selection.

Baglady's resident stylist, Davide Holzknecht, has just joined the Helas lineup and he's blessed us all with a 2 minute crash course in proper manual technique filmed by the good homie, Nick Richards, to celebrate. Some very choice manoeuvres in here.

T-Funk turns it up to 11 in his new part for Baker and Deep Fried, charging round SF with reckless abandon and unleashing havoc at a load of the legendary spots. Fast as fuck boi.

As if his part in 'Play Dead' wasn't hectic enough, Tyshawn's gone full Mark Suciu and dropped a short but powerful part for his new company, King Skateboards, making it his third part this year. Yeah, he definitely wants SOTY.

John Shanahan and the Sag Squad are back with yet another nostalgia-ridden video filled with big shoes, big tricks and even bigger trou. Bonus points for 4:20 runtime. #BlazeIt.

Mariah Duran exhibits impeccable form in her new part for Thunder Trucks laying down some serious hammers with power and style. 'Elluva hardflip on her.

Shane Smith's 'SKUNK 10 (Scrolliosis)' features a solid assortment of Aussies and Kiwis stacking clips in London and at Stalin Square including Tom Snape, Levi Hinkley, Pete Gronau and some of the local boys.

More good shit from the Southern Hemisphere, Redd Sarson's back with another premium video offering featuring a load of your favourite Aussies stacking clips from Sydney to LA. Rowan Davis footy's always a treat.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest skateboard decks, clothing, shoes and more from CSC. Or, check out more of the latest news, videos, and product reviews on the CSC Blog. Safe.
