The Week Today, Now - 03/04/2023
Bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from the last week, including a new Brazilian banger, Ville Wester off-cuts and Troy Gipson pro for Violet.
Troy Gipson has become the first ever pro for Strobeck's new brand, Violet, which hopefully means there'll be some new footage to accompany the news, but in the meantime you can enjoy his bangin' 'Genesis 2' part to appreciate the man's exceptionally lovely style.
Top-tier grinding and sliding from Olivier Durou in his new 'Royal Flush' part with an excellent selection of lesser-seen ledge manoeuvres with everything from ride-on grinds and slappies to ultra-tech combos. He's also got a pretty hilarious interview on Free that's presented as if it's a court case that's well worth a read.
Another belter of a video from Brazil's CPTMAFIA crew, their latest offering, 'BOUDEM CLIPS', is full to the brim with stylish tech, big trousers and even bigger pop. There's also an article on Free explaining what the crew's all about if you wanted to find out more about Brazil's premiere skate brigade.
Very heavy cast of Europe-based legends in 'V&A', the new video filmed by Augustin Giovannoni and edited by Victor Demonte (respect for naming the video after themselves, featuring Vince Palmer, Max Geronzi, Marca Barbier, Titi Gormit, Leo Cholet, Emile Laurent, Raphael Langslow, Etienne Gagne and many, many more.
A new Ville Wester part this week was definitely an unexpected treat. 'What Now?' definitely seems like it's made up of unused clips from his last part in the latest Polar video but we're not ones to turn our noses up at leftovers.
Good vibes aplenty in the new Troposphere video with ping pong-playing robots and plenty of hammers from all your favourite Finns including Eetu Toropainen, Joel Juuso and Aleksi Suovaara.
The Marseille footage machine never stops and the new 'plain grapes' edit doesn't disappoint with 11 minutes of bangers from all the usual heads at that banging looking plaza. Spot envy guaranteed.
Will Rosenstock's uncovered two gems from his archives: Bust Crew's 'A-Street' and Venue's 'Gospel', both featuring the usual lineup of Richmond heads like Gilbert Crockett, Jon Rowe, Ty Beall and more. What's not to love?
Remember that dude who did that mental Leap of Faith gap? Well him and his crew are back with the first episode of their new 'Low Rent' series, taking us on a thorough tour of some of West Palm Beach's gnarliest spots.
Typically stylish new clip from triple OG, Jahmal Williams, celebrating his new guest artist deck for Krooked by running laps of NYC. Doesn't get much better than this.
It may only be a minute and a half long but there's no shortage of legends in Jake Kuzyk's 'Portland' clip, featuring the likes of Diego Todd, Jesse Alba, Hugo Boserup and more.
Very sad to hear of the passing of Crailtap OG and all-round legend Robbie McKinley this week. RIP.
Tasteful shit as ever from Joey Guevara in his new 'Light Path' part, complimented perfectly with some textbook Alien Workshop editing.
New Max Palmer part for Spitfire. Need we say more?
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest skateboard decks, clothing, shoes and more from CSC. Or, check out more of the latest news, videos, and product reviews on the CSC Blog. Safe.
