Historically, Vans are probably best known for their range of vulcanised skate shoes, like the iconic Vans Old Skool, Era, Authentic, Half Cab and Slip-On to name a few. However, in the words of the great Bob Dylan: 'the times they are a-changing' and Vans have recently started branching out into the cupsole game to satisfy the ever-changing whims of the modern skateboarder, bringing back some classic models from the '90s and '00s as well as breaking the mold with some all-new silhouettes, one of which is the all new Vans Wayvee skate shoe.

First released back in 2021 with a limited edition colourway as part of a collab with Canadian legends, Dime MTL, the Vans Wayvee skate shoe has since become a staple of their core range with various different pro colourways and variants to choose from. It's not often that Vans come through with a completely new silhouette but the Wayvee has proved a welcome addition to their range with its high-tech cupsole construction setting the shoe apart from the rest of the Vans range.

Vans Wayvee Skate Shoe Construction

Bringing together the very best of Vans technology into one shoe, the Vans Wayvee skate shoes features a suede and mesh upper for durability and breathability, which is then further backed up by reinforced eyelets to help protect the laces as well as Vans' signature Duracap underlay for an extra layer of protection in high-wear areas. What's more, the upper also features Vans' innovative Luxliner which integrates the tongue and internal lining to further maintain the shoe's shape, ensuring a long-lasting comfortable, breathable and responsive fit.

Likewise, the Vans Wayvee also features an equally high-tech sole with Vans' iconic waffle sole being taken to the next level with their innovative WaffleCup construction. Everyone knows the Vans waffle sole offers some of the finest grip and boardfeel on the market but now they've made it even better by combining their trademark tread pattern with a premium cupsole construction, offering the comfort, support and durability of a cupsole with that signature grip and boardfeel you know and love. As if all that's not enough, they've even thrown in their beloved PopCush insole for even more comfort and impact protection.
