Following on from the incredible Larry Clark Called Home book they released back in August, the Living Proof publishing house are back with yet another premium photobook from a fellow New York City legend. Keeping with the street photography vibe, 'New York Is Mine / I Came At The Perfect Time' is a brand new photobook by one of the most revered names in the field, Boogie, as he compiles a load of never-before-seen images from his earliest days in NYC. Vladimir Milivojevich - more commonly known under his professional pseudonym, Boogie - is a Serbian photographer who grew up amongst the civil unrest in his hometown of Belgrade during the Yugoslav wars of the 1990s. After turning to photography as a way of navigating the conflict around him, with the lens of his camera helping to separate him from the violence and chaos, he later won a green card lottery in 1998 which allowed him to escape the conflict by taking up residency in Brooklyn, New York.

Despite moving to New York to escape the conflict, Boogie ended up gravitating towards the sketchier sides of the city, spending several years in the famously dangerous neighbourhoods of Bed-Stuy and Bushwick. During this period, Boogie spent his time shooting photos of the characters which made up these hoods, including gang members, drug dealers and addicts, painting a brutally honest portrait of life in NYC which he compiled in his legendary debut photo book, 'It's All Good'.

Since then Boogie has gone on to further hone his craft, shooting some of the rawest street portraits of those on the margins of society all over the globe, in cities such as Istanbul, Moscow and Kingston. Quickly earning himself a reputation as one of the hardest-working figures in the world of street photography, Boogie's unique style has also made him one of the most influential with countless others being inspired to pick up a camera in the hopes of emulating his raw authenticity.

Now, almost two decades after the release of his first book, Boogie has teamed up with the legends at Living Proof to revisit some of his earliest work from his first 10 years in New York City in the new photo book: 'New York Is Mine / I Came At The Perfect Time'.
