It's a simple fact of life that Butter Goods know their way around a collab and while they've blessed us with many a fine collaboration over the years, they seem to be on a generational run at the minute, somehow beating their already high standards. Now, following up on the recent Butter Goods x Madlib collection (which we thought was always gonna be hard to beat), they've somehow managed to up the stakes once again by teaming up with cult artist and musician, Daniel Johnston, for a one-off batch of goodies celebrating his legacy. Cast your eyes below to find out all you need to know about the new Butter Goods x Daniel Johnston collection!

Butter Goods x Daniel Johnston Don't Be Scared T-Shirt (White)

Born in Sacramento, California in 1961, Daniel Johnston is best known for his work as a singer/songwriter and artist who charmed the world with his heartfelt lyrics and quirky illustrations, earning him a strong cult fanbase which has spanned the generations while also influencing a variety of other artists like Dead Milkmen, Yo La Tengo and The Velvet Underground. Following his tragic passing in 2019, Daniel's legacy has only continued to grow with the Daniel Johnston Trust and Hi, How Are You Project being founded in his name to preserve his art and offer mental health support to those in need. In recent years, the Trust has even joined forces with various skate brands for collaborative collections, including Vans, Supreme and now Butter Goods.

For this new collection, of course Butter Goods have put Daniel Johnston's iconic artwork front and centre, coming through with a wide range of new T-shirts, Hoods, Headwear and more featuring some of his most beloved doodles. Naturally, this means we've been treated to a strong selection of graphic tees featuring Daniel's artwork, including the stylish 'Dragon' T-shirt in Lime or Washed Black, the acid-washed 'Satan' T-shirt and the 'Don't Be Scared' Tee in Grape and White which features a unique front print alongside lyrics from his song, 'Story of an Artist', on the back. Of course the drop wouldn't be complete without one of Butter's signature Logo Tees and this time we've got the Butter Goods x Daniel Johnston 'Frog Logo' T-shirt which blends Butter's timeless logo with Daniel's iconic Frog drawing.

Alongside the tees, the Butter Goods x Daniel Johnston collection also features a selection of uppers, including Hoods, a Shirt and a stylish zip-thru Knit Sweater. For the hoods, Butter have kept things classic once again with the 'Frog Logo' Hood while also spicing things up a bit more with the 'Enemy' Hood which features large front and back prints depicting Daniel Johnston's drawings and writings. However if you're after something even more unique, we've also got the 'Dragon' Zip-Thru Knit Sweater, which brings a touch of class with its funnel neck construction and the 'Dragon' artwork sprayed across the front, as well as the ultra-suave 'Alive Again' Shirt with its timeless Light Blue striped colourway, screen-printed artwork and premium seersucker construction.

Likewise, for the beanies, we've got the 'Dragon' Beanie and the Reversible 'Frog' Beanie, which both feature spray artwork from Daniel Johnston and an OG skully fit. Finishing the collection in style, the Butter Goods x Daniel Johnston collection also comes packing a strong selection of to spruce up your gaff, including the Frog Ceramic Incense Holder, cunningly designed so that the smoke pours out his mouth; the Jeremiah Book Ends to add some extra flavour to your bookshelf; and even two adorable Jeremiah Plushies with posable eyes, because you're never too old for stuffed toys.
