Video Daze - SOUL CRUSHER
Treat your eyeholes to Daniel Wheatley's latest video, 'Soul Crusher', featuring an unbeatable A-list cast doing their thing in London and LA.
Best known for his work for Crailtap and, most notably, filming the legendary Lotties Skate Shop video, 'Must Be Stopped', Daniel Wheatley is no stranger to putting out top quality videos but 'Soul Crusher' is his first time having full creative control since he started filming as a teenager and he's let his own unique style shine through, showcasing everything he's learned over his countless years of filming.
Filmed between the relentless drear of London and relentlessly sunny Los Angeles, the idea for the video came after Wheatley started dating a girl in London and ended up splitting his time between the two cities. After realising the almost endless potential for spots in London, he decided to get some of his LA homies over to visit as well as taking some of his London mates over to LA for this multicultural banger.
Sandwiched between full parts from LA young gun, Mingus Gamble, and UK legend, Matlok Bennett-Jones, 'Soul Crusher' features an absolutely stacked lineup of British and American talent, including Cambryan Sedlick, Avi Malina, Charlie Birch, Shane Farber and Welsh turbo legends, Chris Jones and Billy Trick, as they take part in Wheatley's foreign exchange program. With top-tier filming and editing throughout backed up by an impeccable soundtrack, this is easily one of the best skate videos of 2024.
Paying tribute to his family's Crailtap connection, Mingus Gamble's part is packed with iconic LA spots from classic Crailtap videos, like the Sunset Boulevard corner ledge, the Van Owen bump, LA High and the LA River, bringing his modern flavour to these timeless spots alongside a load of London-based bangers. Likewise, Matlock lays waste to a load of equally iconic London and LA destinations before shutting it down with a hectic 10-set three-piece. It doesn't get much better than this.
