Video Daze - Jordan Trahan in Static VI

Dan Bunn

Witness the pièce de résistance of Josh Stewart's 'Static VI' as he follows Jordan Trahan on a tour round some of New Orleans cuttiest spots. It doesn't get much better than this.

I distinctly remember becoming an instant fan of Jordan Trahan way back in 2016 after seeing his no-nonsense, two-piece 'Firing Line' from his part in 5Boro's '5BNY' video, consisting of a high-speed ollie over a bench lengthways followed by an equally high-speed treflip crook. Fast-forward to now and Jordan Trahan is still firmly atop my list of favourite skaters and still delivering raw, powerful street skating with style that's only got better over the years.

Showcasing the evolution of his style and trick selection for the finale of Josh Stewart's 'Static VI', Jordan Trahan lavishes his signature spice blend on some of the crustiest spots New Orleans has to offer with powerful bump-to-bar hops, cutty quick-hits and tasteful two-piece lines, all perfectly complimented by Josh's flawless filming and editing for a pairing that will have you drooling all over your screen.

From his Jake Johnson-esque affinity for wallrides to his straight Puleo spot selection, Jordan Trahan channels some of skateboarding's all-time greats in his skating while still managing to inject some of his own distinct flavour. If you ever need a reminder that it's not all about handrails and high stair-count then this is it. I'll take a VX and some cellar doors any day.

To witness the video in all its glory (which we highly recommend) we've got physical copies of 'Static VI' in both DVD and VHS format, both of which come with a 48-page booklet containing a collection of photos from the video's filming to sweeten the deal. And if that's not enough VX-based goodness for you then you can also grab yourself a copy of the 'Static IV & V' DVD for more of Josh Stewart doing what he does best.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the full range of Theories of Atlantis skateboard decks and clothing and buy now from CSC. Or, find out more about the latest skate product on the CSC Blog. Safe.
