Video Daze - Baglady 'Pack Light'

To coincide with their latest collection, Baglady have blessed the web with their first proper video offering, and it's a banger lemmetellew.

Seeing as Baglady's art direction is so heavily centered around photography it was almost difficult to picture what one of their videos might look like. With much of their visual promo up to this point being characterised by the iconic photography of James Griffiths, it begged the question: how would this translate into a video format?

Despite these potential difficulties, Baglady succeeded in creating a refreshingly unique video that perfectly captures the brand's aesthetic. Of course the filming's on point, but what else would you expect from the good homie Nick Richards? The video's got that textbook London grey-ness to it that almost makes it feel like a scene from 'Snatch' and the brief city shots interspersed throughout give us a taste of the photographic style Baglady are known for. They even managed to sneak in some of their T-shirt graphics which is some pretty bangin' #marketing.

The video strikes the perfect balance of certified UK legends, like Tom Delion and Daryl Dominguez, and exciting newer faces, like Davide Holzknecht, Aref Koushesh, and Henry Gibbs. Joel Banner footy is, of course, always a treat, but the glutton in me definitely hoped for more. Henry Gibbs comes through with his flawless trick and spot selection. But for me, Davide stole the show. A fledgeling brand like Baglady starting out their first major video offering with lesser-known talent like Davide was definitely a power move and it's guaranteed to instantly secure your attention for the rest of the video.

I'd not really heard of Davide before, which is admittedly my own fault, but it can at least be partly attributed to the overwhelming volume of incredible skaters residing in London at the minute. But that's not always a bad thing. There's few things better than being introduced to a new skater and then being able to gleefully dive into their back catalog of parts with a fresh set of eyes, as I'm now doing with Davide.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the latest clothing and decks from Baglady and buy now from CSC. Or, check out more skate videos on the CSC Blog. Safe.
