Top 5 Female Skaters

Seeing as it was International Women's Day on the 8th, we thought we'd do another token gesture and honour some of the best female skaters from over the years.

From old-school huckers to new-age tech, these ladies do shit proper and earn their place among the all-time greats.

Marisa Dal Santo

It's no exaggeration to say that Marisa Dal Santo is probably the gnarliest female skater of all time, which is pretty unsurprising seeing as she was on Zero. Marisa charges hard and fast, tossing herself down hefty handrails and stairsets and frequently paying the price with bone-shattering slams.

Elissa Steamer

At a time when the skate industry was even more of a sausage fest than it is now, Elissa held it down for the ladies among some of the most respected brands of all time, including Baker and Toy Machine, earning her reputation as a certified legend with her bangin' trick selection and buttery style. She even still kills it today, having had clips in loads of videos over the last few years. Respect.

Maité Steenhoudt

It's basically impossible to watch Maité skate without it bringing a smile to your face. She's got one of the best styles in the game and always looks like she's having the best time, and let's be real, she definitely is. But most importantly, she has some killer trou.

Alexis Sablone

Alexis has been killin' it in the streets for over 20 years - first gaining recognition at age 16 when she appeared in 'PJ Ladd's Wonderful, Horrible Life' (definitely give it a watch if you haven't seen it) - and she's showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Boasting one of the meanest flicks in the business, Alexis does everything with proper style and form. She even skated in the Olympics but still maintained that skating isn't a sport which is some serious G shit. Fun fact: both the last two tricks in her 'Seize The Seconds' part were tributes to fellow female legend, Elissa Steamer.

Breana Geering

Breana has been a firm favourite since her breakout part came out in 2018, later earning herself a spot as the first ever girl on the Girl Skateboards team, and it's pretty easy to see why. With amazing style and bangin' trick selection, Breana puts a lot of blokes to shame with her insane levels of tech. The first time I saw this part with her impeccable ledge tricks and slammin' nose manny nollie tre I was instantly a fan. Plus, she's got a mean impossible and it's pretty clear from her Bunt interview that she's an absolute legend with a seriously infectious laugh.

Honourable Mentions

Nelly Morville

Nelly's another one who's clearly always having fun on the board and is guaranteed to get you hyped to skate. She's got sick style as well as bangin' trick and spot selection, it's pretty clear to see why she landed a spot among the other legends on the Limosine squad. She also skates proper loose trucks which is the icing on the cake.

Nora Vasconcellos

Nora's definitely a people's favourite and she's probably one of the most successful female skaters of the current generation having landed herself loads of pro models including decks, wheels, shoes, and even a bike. She's pretty much patented her own shade of purple too. Nora has done loads to help promote female skating over the years and she's quickly established herself as a modern legend.

Jaime Reyes

Another OG with bangin' style, Jaime is a true legend of the Hawaiian scene and she's definitely one of the most tech skaters on this list, especially back in the day. She crushes stairs, rails, banks, and ledges with serious style, plus she's got 'elluva back tail.

Lizzie Armanto

Lizzie's up there with Nora as one of the best female transition skaters, but Lizzie in particular gets extra buck. Tearing up some of the most terrifying tran in the States, she even handles vert ramps with ease. To top things off, Lizzie bagged herself a heavy Thrasher cover, making her one of three women to grace the cover alongside Jaime Reyes and Cara-Beth Burnside.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop now to browse the latest skateboard decks, clothing, shoes, and more, and buy now from CSC. Or, check out more Top 5's on the CSC Blog. Safe.
