The Week Today, Now - 10/01/2023
Regularly scheduled programming is back! We're kick-starting 2023 with a slightly late Tuesday Links, bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from over the festive period, including The Papa Mio's Video, a new Anti Hero full-length and Ville Wester leaving Polar.
After about a million premieres around Wales, Port Talbot's finest hardware company have finally unleashed their long-awaited masterpiece for your viewing pleasure. Featuring a load of South Wales' finest including Welsh Tommy, Conor Ratcliff, Jack Branch and Jack Kirtley, this one's a must watch.
All lowercase title, check. Screamo soundtrack, check. Niche skate video references, check. Yep, Daniel Dent's 'faith in bro' is probably the most '2022' video to come out of 2022 and depending on where you stand that's either very good or very bad. Guess you'll have to watch it to find out.
Unless you lack the sense to avoid prolonged exposure to the SLAP messageboards, it probably came as a surprise to see that one of Polar's newest pros, Ville Wester, now skates for Palace. While Ville may seem like a weird fit, Palace also recently announced that Barcelona's junior ledge technician, Pedro Attenborough, has also joined their prestigious ranks with a bangin' clip playing on Pedro's beloved British namesake. Yeah, the next Palace full-length is looking like it's gonna be really bloody good.
Catch a load of your favourite Bronze 56k skaters - including Dick Rizzo, Josh Wilson, Mark Humienik and Grady Smith - alongside an assortment of stylish NYC heads in Jeff Cecere's 'Mind How You Go'. It ain't quite a Bronze video but it'll do.
Bottom Feeder have treated us to a creepy new Christmas edit featuring a load of everyone's favourite gays, like Yann Horowitz, Nelly Morville and Chandler Burton, alongside some pretty epic cameos.
'Soundtrack' is an incredible new video out of Seattle and if the soothing familiarity of the VX1000's grainy embrace isn't enough to draw you in then Simon Bannerot's effortless first part definitely will be. Man's got flow.
It doesn't get much better than an Antihero full-length and their latest offering, 'Fantastic Voyage', is another one for the historic books; combining their usual high speed antics and love of adventure with a dash of Grimple Stix's signature absurdity.

Another solid scene video to round out 2022, 'HOME' is a Melbourne-based banger which does a good job of capturing the city's obscenely talented inhabitants, with Barney Page, Shaun Paul, Simon Zuzic alongside a load of local legends.
The legend that is Jan Maarten Sneep has come through with one of his finest 'Memory Screen' edits yet for the one and only Julien Stranger, allowing the youth to experience skateboarding's equivalent of a legendary Pokemon and old heads to relive the 'good ol' days'.
