Save The Date - CSC's Plaza Skate Comp 2024
Join us down the Bay once again for our 14th annual Plaza Comp as we take over the Barrage for an action-packed day filled with music, prizes and lots and lots of skateboarding. Start planning those runs!
We've had the Olympics and that was alright I guess but now it's time for the real Ultimate Sporting Event as we head back down to Cardiff Bay for our 14th annual Plaza Comp! Join us from 12PM on Sunday 1st September at the Cardiff Bay Barrage Skate Park to see the finest athletes from South Wales and beyond battling it out for dope prizes and eternal glory without having to sit through a load of boring athletics or weird Australian breakdancing in between.
As always, we've got a variety of categories for all ages, abilities and genders, including the always hectic Under 16s, Over 16s and Girls (which is looking like it'll be the most heated to date with all the female shredders knocking about Cardiff these days!) as well as Sponsored for the pros, the crowd-pleasing Best Trick and the return of the Veterans category for the Rad Mums and Dads (despite everyone bottling it last year). Veterans: we know who you are and so do you so we expect to see you putting your money where your mouths are this year - don't let the kids have all the fun!
To sweeten the deal, we've of course rounded up a load of top-tier prizes from all your favourite skate brands, including Polar Skate Co, Heroin, Hockey, Spitfire, ACE Trucks, The National Skateboard Co, New Balance Numeric, Independent Trucks and more as well as incredible prizes from local legends like Bacareto, Knight Vintage, Caffeine and Krooks, Carve Wicked, The Skateboarder's Companion and Spit and Sawdust. Meanwhile, for the Sponsored category we're offering straight-up cash money for the podium with £150 for 1st place, £100 for 2nd place and £50 for 3rd. Who even needs medals?!
With vibes supplied by Cardiff's very own Enthusiasm Events, we'll be belting out bangin' tunes and dodgy commentary all day long so whether you're planning on skating or not make sure you come down for a fun-filled day in the sun (hopefully...). As always, we'll be kicking things off with the Under 16s so if you're planning on competing make sure you get down for that 12PM start to give yourself time to sign up and get your practice runs in!
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest clothing and skateboard decks from CSC. Or, find out more about the latest Cardiff skateboard events on the CSC Blog. Safe.
