Save The Date - CSC Plaza Comp 2023

It's that time again! The annual CSC Plaza Comp is back for another year and this time it's bigger and better with more categories, more prizes and more laughs than ever before.

We've had the Urdd Urban Games and the Vans Shop Riot, but now it's finally time for the only Cardiff skateboard event that really matters: the CSC Plaza Comp. Join us as we head down to the Cardiff Bay Barrage Skate Park - located at the Cardiff end of the Barrage near the kid's play area and public toilets - on Saturday 2nd September from 12PM for our 13th annual Plaza Comp as the finest skaters South Wales has to offer battle it out for top-tier prizes and eternal glory.

The Cardiff skate scene has just kept getting better and better over the last few years and now, with the ubiquity of skateboard lessons, the new-and-improved Spit and Sawdust training facility and some of the local young guns starting to mature, we reckon this is going to be the most hectic Plaza Comp to date. Don't worry about signing up beforehand as you'll be able to enter on the day, just make sure you give yourself enough time to sign up before the event starts.

This year we're covering all the bases with more categories than ever before including Under 16s, Over 16s, Girls, Sponsored and now the return of the much-requested Veterans category to give Cardiff's thriving scene of Rad Dads their chance to take part in the fun. No more shouting from the sidelines lads, it's time for you to get stuck in as well! As usual, we'll be starting things off with the Under 16's so if you're hoping to enter then make sure you get down nice and early for the midday start.

As well as these extra divisions, we've also got more prizes than ever before with goodies from all your favourite skate brands including Ace, Thrasher, New Balance Numeric, Thrasher Magazine, Skate Cafe, Independent, GX1000, Carve Wicked, HUF and more, as well as some extra special rewards like free skate vouchers from Spit and Sawdust and even Bacareto drink vouchers for the grown-ups.

As always vibes will be supplied by Cardiff's finest events company, Enthusiasm Events, with Al Power laying down non-stop bangers to keep the hype going while our resident MCs, Jim O and Christian, provide increasingly inebriated commentary. With a bit of luck, we'll be blessed with a bit of sunshine as the plaza makes an absolute glorious destination when the sun's out, so make sure you slap on some suncream and bring plenty of refreshments (i.e. not just beer).
