In anticipation of the release of 'Sour Solution 3', the Sour boys have come through with a bangin' new drop for Spring including a De La Soul tribute and plenty of extremely relatable graphics.
With the release of Sour's newest video, 'The Sour Solution III', just around the corner, there's no better time to get your hands on one of their premium skateboard decks for those sweet, sweet bragging rights after they fully blow up. Effortlessly blending stylish aesthetics with tongue-in-cheek humour, we're always super excited to see what new graphics the Sour boys come up with and this drop is no exception.
One for the old school hip-hop connoisseurs, Sour have come through with a tribute to one of the most legendary hip-hop acts of all time: De La Soul. The graphic pays homage to the group's seminal album, 'Three Feet High and Rising', with it's colourful, cartoonish style.
Of course, Sour have added their own humorous touches by adapting De La Soul into 'Det A La Sour' for a strong Scandi vibe, and replacing the name of the album cover with the slogan: 'The Magic Behind The Angst'. Whether you want it for the wall or the streets, this deck is a must-have. Or, you can just grab the same graphic as a tee.
Arguably the flagship series for the collection, Sour have shown their appreciation for British tourists with their range of 'Guiri Co.' designs. For the gringos among you, 'Guiri' is a Spanish word used to refer to uncouth tourists, typically British, who can be easily identified by their socks and sandals, lobster-red skin, and general lack of respect for local culture.
The graphics pay homage to these iconic British exports with a range of designs by Eli Wulfe Cheshire, including someone urinating in a bin, chugging a beer, and lounging on the beach. The 'Guiri Co' series features new pro models for Tom Snape, Gustav Tonnesen, and Sour's very own guiri, Barney Page, as well as a T-shirt featuring all three characters if you just can't decide.
As well as the guiri-themed designs, Sour have also come through with a bangin 'Guiri' shoulder bag to facilitate travelling abroad and getting stuck into typical guiri activities. The bag features an adjustable, removable shoulder strap with two different pockets for maximum utility. It even comes with a buckle-secured flap to keep those pesky pickpockets at bay. If you're planning on heading abroad and avoiding the local culture at all costs, the 'Guiri' shoulder bag is a must-have.
Alongside all these other bangin' graphics, Sour have come through with some hilarious designs that I'm sure we can all relate to. Tom Snape's 'Dreaming The Dream' graphic depicts a man in bed dreaming about being a sleep, which is definitely something I experience on a weekly basis. Likewise, Oscar Candon's 'Life Charger' deck shows the ideal way to bring some extra energy into your life: shoving a fork into a charging socket.
On top of all this, the drop also features some brand new trou to accompany the ever-popular Sour Cargo Pants. The new model, named simply 'The Sour Pant', features a chino-style material in a loose, straight leg fit with an adjustable waistband as well as a drawstring ankle closure for engineering the perfect fit. They even come with double beltloops designed for belts and shoelaces, with the added bonus of a free shoelace belt included. These are easily some of the most interesting new trou we've seen in a while and they're the perfect choice for ditching the heavy denim for the warm summer months to come.
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the full range of Sour Solution skateboard decks and clothing, and buy now from CSC. Or, find out more about the latest skate product on the CSC Blog. Safe.
