Product Spotlight - Polar Spring '22 Clothing
Polar are back with a new clothing collection for Spring '22, featuring some bangin' new tees and all-new models of pants.
Jacob's Corner
If you're a fan of Jacob Ovgren's artwork then you're in luck. Polar's latest clothing collection features a whopping total of six different tees featuring Ovgren's artwork. While they lack the bright colours and cartoon characters he's usually known for, there's still a strong presence of his signature cynicism. This drop in particular is fairly dark - although there's no gruesome jetpack suicides so I guess it's relatively tame.
The 'Basketball' tee is probably the most graphic, with the design featuring a front and back print of a kid being squashed by a basketball. However, the 'Shadow' and 'Firework' T-shirts aren't exactly all sunshine and rainbows. Ovgren's traded in his colourful pens and doubled down on the black and white for these somber graphics. The 'Shadow' tee basically looks like one of those old Childline adverts, with a very down-cast looking kid sat on what we can only assume is the 'naughty seat'. Big fan of the colourway on this one.
Alternatively, if you're looking for something a bit less morbid, the 'Vertical Logo' and 'Face' tees feature aesthetically pleasing graphics with minimal edge. The 'Vertical Logo' tee features a pretty straight-forward graphic with a vertical 'Polar' bubble font on the chest. Pretty simple but looks dope and it's a nice change from the usual stroke logos. It comes in two colourways too: a classic grey and black, or decadent black and gold.
Finally, the 'Face' tee is probably the most interesting graphic from the collection. At first glance the T-shirt appears to just have a cheerful looking face on it with 'Skate Co' written underneath. However, if you look closely (and turn your head to the side) you'll actually see that the face spells out 'Polar'. Mind. Blown.
New Polar Pants
Everyone knows Polar make some of the best trou in the game right now, from the timeless '93 Denim to the bodacious Big Boy Jeans. But, apparently their dominance of the trouser industry still isn't enough and they've decided to add even more models to their lineup.
Polar's Spring '22 collection introduces an all-new style of trouser from Polar: the '92 Denim Pants. As the name would suggest, the '92 jeans share a similar style to the '93 jeans except with a slimmer, more tapered leg. The tapered leg makes these bad boys perfect for if you don't like your trousers sagging all over your shoes while the straight leg fit towards the upper leg gives a nice range of movement. The '92 Denim are available in two different colourways: a classic Light Blue, or a tasteful Washed Black with contrasting gold stitching. It even features a sick pocket embroidery of a smoking traffic cone, because you only ever buy trousers for the pocket embroidery, right?
More importantly, is the existence of the '92 jean further evidence to support Gifted Hater's claim that trousers will be slimming back down in 2022? Is the Big Boy trend finally over? It's difficult to say but the decision to make a new line of slimmer trou is definitely an interesting one. Better go grab some skinny jeans before it's too late.
Another new addition to the lineup, the '93 Denim' Pants have been reimagined as the '93 Cargo' Pants. Easily one of Polar's most popular trou, the '93's have been an absolute staple for the last few years, and now they've been blessed with the gift of extra pockets. Whether you're carrying skate paraphernalia like wax and bolts or looking to make smuggling sweets into the cinema that little bit easier, you can never have too many pockets.
The Polar 93 Cargo Pants ditch the denim in favour of 100% cotton twill for that beloved work pant feel. Meanwhile, the straight-leg construction offers a semi-baggy fit without feeling like you're wearing parachute pants. They come with their own custom pocket embroidery too because we all know that's what you're really here for.
Polar Accessories
As usual, Polar have also come through with some bangin' accessories including new caps and the return of the ever-popular Polar socks. First up, the 'Skate Dude' 6 panel cap is guaranteed to be a hit. The cap features a classic unstructured 6 panel 'dad hat' construction complete with a curved peak. Available in Black or White, the 'Skate Dude' graphic features an embroidery of what can only be the Hamburglar (or Oscar in his signature stripey jumper) doing some form of radical stunt. Because what better way is there to prove to everyone that you skate than by wearing a hat with a picture of someone skating on it? Checkmate posers.
A slightly more tech offering, the 'Lightweight Ripstop' 6 Panel Cap features an unstructured fit, this time with a flat peak. Likewise, the 100% polyamide ripstop construction offers the cap an ultra-lightweight feel that's guaranteed to keep your head cool through the summer. Available in either a classic black colourway or a refreshing sand, the cap features Polar's classic logo embroidered on the front and rear. You can't go wrong.
Last but not least, Polar have brought back new colourways in their 'Stripe' and 'Stroke Logo' socks. The 'Stroke Logo' socks are treated to a lovely Olive colourway with black and white stripes around the 'Stroke' logo on the top. Meanwhile, the 'Stripe' socks feature a subtle option of Brown and Blue stripes on a white sock, or a decadent sounding Rich Red and Chartreuse (which is basically red and green if you're a normal person).
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the full range of Polar skateboard decks and clothing, and buy now from CSC. Or, find out more about the latest skate product on the CSC Blog. Safe.
