Obviously the main attraction from Palace's latest run of decks is the incredible new Palace 'American Psycho' deck which, as you can probably imagine, features a still from the film 'American Psycho'. The scene in question depicts Christian Bale - as the titular 'Psycho', Patrick Bateman - in his iconic see-through jacket (featuring an added Palace Triferg logo) leaning on an axe as he waits to murder his colleague, Paul Allen. What's more, the deck also features an incredible top graphic based on Bateman's business card from that equally legendary scene.
While Bale's role in American Psycho received its fair share of positive feedback on the film's initial release in 2000, the film, Bale's portrayal of Bateman, has only grown in cultural significance in recent years with the character becoming a frequent figure in various different memes and even 'Literally Me' type discussions around the concept of the 'sigma male'. Memes aside, the film's a straight-up cult classic so I think it goes without saying that the Palace 'American Psycho' deck isn't going to be about for long.
Of course the drop features loads of other bangers alongside the Palace American Psycho deck, including new pro decks for the legends Jamal Smith and Charlie Birch. The new Palace 'Jamal Pro S32' Deck comes in a universally loved 8.25" width with a textbook Palace design. This vibrant, eye-catching graphic appears pretty anatomical in its design with what looks like an image of brightly-coloured neurons and muscle fibres on a green woodstain. Any doctors/scientists able to confirm? Regardless of whether you can tell what it is, it looks cool and that's the main thing.
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, the new Palace 'Charlie Pro S32' Deck features some much more low tech artwork. The latest Charlie Birch pro deck from Palace features a plain white background with a quirky line drawing of a person's head below a sea shell that looks kinda like one of those weird doodles they have in 'The Mighty Boosh' intro.
Last but not least, the drop also features a new Team deck from the Palace boys: the Palace 'From The Beginning To The End' Deck. As the name suggests, the graphic depicts the lifecycle of man from birth all the way through to death alongside a patterned, reflective foil Palace logo. To make it even better, the deck also features a lovely green fade woodstain as an added bonus.
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest Palace skateboard decks from CSC. Or, find out more about the latest skate product on the CSC Blog. Safe.
