Product Spotlight - Frog Summer 2022
The artistic masterminds at Frog HQ have been grafting hard on Microsoft Paint to bring you a load of tastefully lo-fi new goodies, including fresh decks for all your favourite pros, bangin' new hats, and all-new hacky sacks for when you need some extra entertainment on the session.
Frog Skateboard Decks
Frog chieftain and manual-combo aficionado, Chris 'Mango' Milic, has got a new 10" shaped deck that'd be perfect as a curb crusher or pub cruiser. The Frog Chris Milic 'Dragon Lovers' deck features an old-school fish shape with a wide square tail and round nose that's widest around the top bolt holes. The graphic features two dragons coiled around a winged staff with an eye in the top, so it's basically just a modern reimagining of the caduceus symbol but I'm backing it.
The drop also features an all-new pro model deck for fellow spectacle-wearer Pat Gallaher, AKA Pat G. Frog's 'Pat G Lonesome Fishes' deck comes in at a slender 8.125" inches and features an olive green background that I reckon would pair nicely with the green grip for that DIY dipped aesthetic. The graphic depicts two fishes - one of which looks like it's farting' swimming across a black void, there's also a pink Frog logo crest above it for some much-needed branding.
My personal favourite from the collection has to be Jesse Alba's 'Hamburger Truck' deck - and not just because it's the only 8.5" deck. The graphic is one of the most intricate designs from the drop, featuring a range of cartoonish drawings, stick figures, and multi-media images for a tastefully bizarre bit of contrast. I mean there's just something sick about having a drawing of a truck that looks like it was drawn by a blindfolded 5-year-old next to a hyper realistic photo of a McDonald's double cheeseburger.
Last but not least, Las Vegas' finest, Nick Michel, also has a bangin' new deck with an absolutely delightful green woodstain. The Frog 'Nick Michel - Angry Owl' deck is one of the simplest from the collection with the graphic appearing just below the center of the deck while the rest of the deck features a green woodstain. The graphic itself is a colourful illustration of a bird - presumably the eponymous 'Angry Owl' - pecking that weird Frog mascot character's head, so yeah it's a pretty textbook Frog graphic.
The drop also features some colourful new griptape with bangin' designs to spice up your deck. We've got some lovely reddish brown grip with the classic Frog egg logo, some vibrant green grip with a sheep riding a scooter, and some tasteful dark purple grip with a confused bloke stood above a cow wondering 'What was I doing again?' - so if you're looking for some custom griptape to show off your quirkiness then you've come to the right place.
Frog Caps
The Frog 'It's Broken' cap features a structured 5 panel construction with a high crown and curved peak for a trucker hat-style aesthetic without the mesh back. The front of the cap is embroidered with Frog's 'It's Broken' artwork, which depicts a figure attempting to fix a smoking car in Frog's signature style of lo-fi digital art. If you want something with a bit of colour to it then the Green variant with white and pink embroidery is for you, but no worries if not because it comes in a sleek black and white colourway too.
Frog Hacky Sacks
In a move that only Frog could pull off, their latest drop features their own take on the legendary hacky sack. These beloved time killers are perfect for messing about in the sun after skating, waiting for your mate to get the clip, or for when you get bored of losing all your money to Peej playing dice - although I wouldn't put it past him to find away to fleece all your pocket change playing hacky sack.
The Frog Hacky Sack feature the classic Frog mascot logo and feature a patchwork construction that comes in two vibrant colourways: the pink variant features alternating patches of pink, purple, blue, and black fabrics; whereas the green variant features patches of neon yellow, orange, green, and brown. It ain't ever day you get a skater-owned hacky sack, so these bad boys are not to be missed.
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the full range of Frog skateboard decks and buy now from CSC. Or, find out more about the latest skateboard gear with product reviews on the CSC Blog. Safe.
