Continuing with their 'Thank You Very Much' series, Clown have teamed up with Peckham-based artist, Tygar Miles Smith, to say thank you to the legendary publishing house, Ladybird Books. Available in a range of sizes, the Clown 'Thank You Ladybird' decks featuring graphics based on reconstructions of classic Ladybird books. If you're old enough to remember life before Fortnite and TikTok you'll probably be very familiar with Ladybird and their iconic series of children's books, and if not you'll definitely find some knocking about your Nan's house.

Clown 'Beautiful Parts' 8.5" Deck - CSC, Cardiff Skateboard Club - UK Skate Store

The artwork itself is inspired by artist, Tom Phillips, who used collage, cut-up, ornament and other techniques to reconstruct forgotten texts into striking visual pieces. Tygar has since adapted this unique method to reconstruct classic Ladybird books, manipulating text and images to create new meaning. According to Tygar, Ladybird books hold a special place in his heart as - like many other people - they played a major part in him learning to read so the series is a nice way of saying Thank You.

Clown 'Live In Joy' 8.375" Deck - CSC, Cardiff Skateboard Club - UK Skate Store

The Clown 'Thank You Ladybird' series is comprised of three unique decks featuring Tygar's artwork with an 8.25", 8.375" and 8.5" deck on offer to suit everyone's needs. Each deck draws inspiration from a different Ladybird page with reconstructed text from the books appearing alongside bold shapes and bright colours on a white background. As always with Clown, these decks are lovingly screen-printed in the UK on top-quality Generator wood by Back and Forth Screen Printing for a luxurious finish.
