Product Spotlight - Carve Wicked Winter '21
South Wales' finest, Carve Wicked, are back with another slammin' collection of decks, and with designs by countless Welsh legends, as well as a boozy series of decks, these may be the best graphics of the year. Did we mention they're cheap as chips as well?
If there's one thing the Carve Wicked boys like more than skating transition, it's drinking lager, and they've decided to honour their love of the golden nectar in a bangin' new series by the good homie, Ollie Josty. The boys have taken inspiration from some of their favourite canned beverages - including Red Stripe, John Smith's, and of course, Holsten Pils - for this can-tastic (sorry) selection of decks, which range from 8.25" all the way up to 9". Now you can prove to everyone that you're a big boy who likes drinking alcoholic beverages and earn yourself some serious street cred. Sorry cider drinkers, better luck next time.
Keeping with the boozy theme, the drop also features the one-off 'Dai Hard' deck, also designed by certified nice boy, Ollie Josty. The graphic sees John McClane in the boozer having traded in his shooters for two pints of Brains SA, and by the look on his face, it seems like he's just realised there's no free tables in the gaff. Fucked it.
Alongside Ollie Josty's artwork, our very own Kev Barry has come through with a Frank Zappa inspired deck for the Carve Wicked homies. The graphic pays homage to the artwork from the back cover of Zappa's 'One Size Fits All' album, which features a mock astrological (Or astronomical? Who knows? Who cares?) chart featuring made-up constellations, and Kev has adapted this design with some made-up constellations of his own including 'Twatus Maximus', 'Unas Moreas', and 'Oh... Ryan's Belt'. Buy this deck to show your love for scruffy bearded weirdos like Frank Zappa, and the man himself, Kev Barry.
Another CSC homie who's featured in the collection, the one and only Phil Morgan designed a deck for this latest Carve Wicked drop. The graphic features his signature style of surreal, bendy skateboard, this time with the nose forming a hand that's twisted into the Carve Wicked gang sign. With two Welsh icons for the price of one, what more could you ask for?
Last but not least, the final Welsh legend honoured in this collection is none other than Tidy Mike's van. Tidy's van has been a big part of countless CSC trips over the years, and it's estimated that over a billion cans have been consumed inside of her. The graphic, again designed by Ollie Josty, features a white and green background with Tidy's big red van slapped right in the middle, which the observant among you may realise bears similarities to a certain flag...
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop now to check out the full range of Carve Wicked skateboard decks and show some love for the good homies. Safe.
