Starting 2024 off with a bang, New Balance Numeric have taken one of their best-selling shoes, the New Balance Numeric 440, and revamped it with the help of their skate team to come out with a leaner and meaner version of this certified classic. If you're a long-time 440 fan, there's nothing to be scared about as the new 440 V2 is fundamentally the same shoe just with an updated look and new and improved tech, so it's still the same 440 you know and love. However, if you've never tried the 440 before then now's the perfect time. New Year, new me and all that.
One of the most notable changes to the New Balance Numeric 440 v2 is the updated 'N' logo which has been made larger and raised up to the eyestay for a sleek, modern look. New Balance have also further tweaked the upper by raising the height of the toe cap to help move the stitching away from high-wear areas to prevent blowouts as well as adding tack stitching to the eyestay for increased durability. Aside from that the NB 440 V2 still features the same mixture of perforated suede and mesh panels for breathability as well as the double-layer toe-box for maximum durability.
Likewise, the New Balance Numeric 440v2 features the same tried-and-tested NDurance rubber outsole for long-lasting grip and flick with the same iconic tread pattern. While the outsole remains the same New Balance have upgraded the foam in the heel to their signature Abzorb compound for additional impact support as well as adding an Ortholite insole for maximum comfort to help you keep skating for longer.
As with the original 440, the New Balance Numeric 440 V2 is available in both low- and high-top versions, with the new high-tops featuring all the new additions as well as a lowered collar for improved ankle mobility. For this first release, the New Balance Numeric 440 V2 comes in a selection of familiar colourways including Sea Salt / Vintage Indigo for the low-top as well as Sea Salt / New Spruce and Vintage Indigo / Turtledove for the high-tops.
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the full range of New Balance Numeric skate shoes and buy now from CSC. Or, find out more about the latest skate product on the CSC Blog. Safe.
