CSC x Vague Christmas Party Extravaganza

Dan Bunn

After COVID prevented us from having any fun last year, the Cardiff Skateboard Club Christmas party is back and bigger than ever. This year we’re teaming up with our mates over at Vague Skateboard Magazine for a double whammy launch party for the latest issue of Vague, issue 24, and the bran’ new CSC x Fountain video. That’s right, this is gonna be one for the history books.

Cardiff Skateboard Club x Vague Skate Mag Christmas Party

On Saturday 11th December, we’ll be taking over Kong’s Level 2 on Guildhall Place for a night filled with lagers and laughs. It kicks off at 9PM and it’ll be £5 cash on the door, so make sure you come prepared. You’ll also need a COVID passport or a negative lateral flow test, that’s been registered online, if you want to get in. Unfortunately for our younger skaters out there the event is over 18s only so you’ll have to come back in a couple of years if you’re underage, and make sure you bring your ID if you look young. Sorry, we don’t make the rules, so don’t moan at us if you forget your ID or your COVID pass because you won’t be getting any sympathy. Consider this your warning.

We've got loads of treats in store for you, including the premiere of our new video in collaboration with Cardiff's freshest clothing company, Fountain. The boys have been stacking clips all year long for this banger and we can't wait to show it to you. Look forward to plenty of footage from PJ and Don, as well as new shop dragons Ben and Oscar.

If that wasn't exciting enough, Vague will be launching their latest issue, issue 24, which is guaranteed to be packed to the brim with interesting skateboard insights, artistic niceness, and so much more.

We'll also be premiering the new video from CHPO Brand, a documentary about the emerging skate scene in Beirut following the construction of the Snoubar Skatepark by Make Life Skate Life. The documentary explores the role skateboarding has played in the Lebanese capital, which has been racked with political crises and economic downfall, with testimonies from local skaters aimed at helping to make sense of the messy political and economic situation in the country.

There will also be a stall run by skate charity, Skate Nepal, where they'll be selling various goodies to raise funds for the development of new parks to support the growing skate scene in Nepal, as well as funding the charities various other activities. Make sure you treat yourself to some new clobber and show some support for the ongoing work of this amazing initiative. You might even be able to get some last minute Christmas presents sorted.

Alongside Skate Nepal's stall, the boys from Baglady will be down to show off their premium skateboard clothing that you'll be able to get your hands on if you know what's good for you. We'll also have some free prize giveaways supplied by the legends at New Balance Numeric, as well as free booze provided by CHPO Brand. The free booze is first come, first served though so make sure you make it down early before Tuff Pintz drink it all.

On the musical side of things, we'll have a live performance from Newport's hardest band, Tuff Pintz, who'll be performing a wide range of well-known bangers to get you right in the mood for some serious swiggin'. Later on, one of Cardiff's finest purveyors of electronic sounds, Don Leisure, will be treating us with his usual mix of pleasant vibrations so you can show off your fiercest shapes.

Make sure you save the date because our CSC Christmas parties always go off, and this might just be our best one yet. You don't wanna miss it.
