Hailing from the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, Chris Middlebrook has played a key role in documenting Australian skateboarding over the years, having been filming and shooting photos across a wide variety of formats from 1990 up to the present day. Throughout his time behind the lens he's worked with skate brands like Nike SB and Alien Workshop, capturing a wide variety of legends, including Nick Boserio, Lewis Marnell, Dylan Rieder, Shane O'Neill and countless others. More recently he's also been responsible for helping coach Australia's Olympic skaters as well as founding April Skateboards alongside Shane O'Neill; so it's pretty clear that he's a man of many talents.

Now, he's compiled all these years of skate documentation into his new 'Pause' photobook. Packed with over 300 pages of skate history, Chris Middlebrook's 'Pause' Book brings together a wide array of images from throughout his 35+ year career. Spanning the full spectrum of visual mediums, the book features everything from 35mm and Polaroid images to sequences from his various videos shot across Super 8, 8mm, Hi8, MiniDV and HD cameras, all of which are presented in chronological order to tell the story of his illustrious career and the people he's been surrounded by.

As you can probably imagine, 'Pause' features a whole load of famous faces from across the generations and the continents which Chris Middlebrook has helped document, ranging from local Aussie legends to all-time greats like Lance Mountain, Eric Koston and countless others, with locations ranging from long-lost spots and parks all the way up to the Olympic Games. Alongside all the images, 'Pause' also features a 15 page appendix which offers up even more insight with loads of bonus, behind-the-scenes lore from surrounding the images.

To make things even more exciting, he's spared no expense when it comes to the finish of the book, using premium 157GSM matte stock paper in a cloth-bound cover with a debossed bronze foil title and debossed cover image for a luxurious look and feel that's perfect for adding a touch of class to your bookcase, coffee table or toilet. You can tell this one's a labour of love so make sure to show some love in return by grabbing yourself a copy!
