Cardiff Skatepark Plans - Maltings Skatepark NOW OPEN!
Come check out the new Cardiff skatepark in Splott's Maltings Park which finally opens to the public today!
After months of waiting and several weeks of crawling under fences, Cardiff's first new skatepark in over 12 years is finally (officially) open to the public! Located in the new and improved Maltings Park on the corner of East Tyndall Street in Splott, the new Maltings skatepark is the ultimate TF for summertime sessions. Complete with mellow quarterpipes, a flatbar, a kicker, a curb, several ledges and more, Cardiff's newest skatepark has everything you need to hone your skills before heading out into the streets to take your tricks to something that really matters - and it's only down the road from Cardiff's legendary Bute Square so you won't even have far to go.
Alongside the skatepark, the new Maltings Park also features a MUGA (which apparently means a multi-use games area) and children's play area, as well as a load of new trees, paths, benches and a load of other features to help enrich the space and just make it a nice place to be. Safe to say this new Cardiff skatepark is a welcome addition to the city, so get down there and make the most of it - and don't forget to tag us in your clips!
This is just the first instalment of Cardiff Council's 20 year skate amenities strategy with a load more parks still in the works - including the proposed destination skatepark at Llanrumney. Fingers crossed we'll have more news for you soon but things seem to be off to a great start with the new Maltings park, hopefully all the future parks will be up to the same high standard!
That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to browse the latest skateboard decks, clothing, shoes and more, and buy now from CSC. Or, find out more news about the Cardiff skatepark plans on the CSC Blog. Safe.
