The Week Today, Now - 21/08/2023

Bringing you the latest and greatest skateboard news from the last week, including the new Palace and WKND full-lengths, the return of Bronze TV and a look into the Georgian skate scene.

WKND are back with another block-buster full-length, 'Rumble Pack', featuring all their usual bizarre skits and niche spot selection from the trifecta of legends that is Tom Karangelov and their two newest pros, Sarah Meurle and Filip Almqvist. This is better than anything Hollywood has produced in years.

Another epic full-length this week, Palace have just dropped their new video, 'Beta Blockers', for the world to enjoy, filmed entirely on Betamax over a whopping six years. Say what you will about their bizarre collabs (like the new Palace x McDonalds gear) and hypebeast fanbase but you can't deny they make some of the best videos of the modern age.

Bronze TV is back for another instalment featuring all your favourite faces and their typical mind-bending editing which, this time, looks back at some of Bronze’s history. Personal highlights include a new Dick Rizzo banger at his ‘Favourite Spot’, Grant’s Tomb; Mitch Barrette’s monster nosegrind nollie heel; a cheeky Alien Workshop ‘Timecode’ reference and every second of Mark Humienik footage - but of course it’s all incredible.

Whether you couldn’t make it down to the event in person or you sat outside smashing cans instead of watching the skating, the full Vans Shop Riot 2023 Recap is now online to remind you what you missed out on alongside the full edit from The Skateboarder’s Companion.

Episode 3 of Primitive's 'REC' series sees the ginger ninja, Giovanni Vianna, flaunting his effortless style and unconventional trick selection on a variety of urban furniture from Brazil to Norway. Looks like at a good half of it was filmed on the same day too, what a weapon.

The Theories lads have headed down to the Empire State Plaza to take their Plaza Denim pants for a test-drive on the spot’s pristine ledges - and if you like the look of them, we've got the Plaza Jeans and other Theories of Atlantis goodies available online now!

Yet another top-quality full-length, this time coming out of South America: Matias Henriquez' 'Regression' is a powerful new offering filmed in Chile and Argentina featuring a variety of South American legends including Leo Cholet, Benjamin Navarette and Camilo Robles. You can tell a lot of love went into this one.

Get your weekly dose of niche skate tourism in the form of the new 'PURI: Where Have All The Flowers Gone?' video out of Georgia, showcasing the country's rather rugged-looking landscapes and spots. Free have also uploaded the accompanying article about skating in Georgia if you wanted more of an insight.

Deathwish's Taylor Kirby ups the tech in his new part for Spitfire Wheels, cruising through mile-long grinds and dancing across manny pads with some mandatory hucks for good measure. Always forget how much of a beast this guy actually is.

Extremely tasteful skating from Devin Sweat in his new part for Labor Skate Shop as he takes his exceptionally crispy style to a load of low-impact New York spots. If Village Psychic back it, so should you.

The Sexhippies boys are back once again with another slice of NY goodness, with Jasper Dohrs, Cooper Qua, Eddie Vargas Jr. and the rest of the crew hitting up the streets of Albany.

That's enough chit-chat though. Head to the shop to buy the latest clothing and skateboard decks from CSC. Or, check out more of the latest news, videos, and product reviews on the CSC Blog. Safe.
