Product Spotlight - Heroin Decks 2022
Heroin are back with a load of shaped decks to get you ready to unleash endless destruction on your local curb spot, as well as some Nicholas Cage-themed skateboard decks for all the cinephiles.
We've stocked up on a load of fresh bangers from Heroin Skateboards, including a wide range of shaped skateboard decks as well as their signature egg shaped decks. Heroin have come through with a load of bangin' series including a collab with the Nicholas Cage film, 'Mandy', and the Video City series with artwork from triple OG, Funeral French.
Heroin x Mandy Decks
In what's possibly one of the most bizarre collabs ever, Heroin have released a run of boards in collaboration with the 2018 movie starring Nicolas Cage, 'Mandy'. The film - a gruesome tale of revenge in which Cage hunts down and brutalises a deranged cult and their demonic biker mates - has received loads of critical praise and has even been pegged as a future cult film thanks to the striking art direction and compelling performance from Nick Cage, but what else would you expect from the world's greatest actor?
The collection features several different Nick Cage themed skateboard decks in a range of shapes and sizes, so you can rep the best actor to ever live no matter what you skate. The Heroin x Mandy 'Poster' deck comes in a chunky 9.6" shape with a rounded nose and wide square tail that maintains a pretty even width throughout. As you can probably guess, the graphic features a print of the theatrical release poster for 'Mandy' with a moody looking Nick Cage in the centre alongside various hippies and a neon background. Definite wall-hanger.
Alongside the 'Poster' deck, the drop also includes a Heroin x Mandy deck featuring the iconic artwork of Funeral French. The Heroin x Mandy 'French' deck comes in at 8.88" with a rounded nose and square tail, similar to the 'Poster' deck but slightly slimmed down. The graphic features various characters and significant imagery from the film in French's signature style of digital artwork, capturing the essence of the film while still maintaining a classic Heroin aesthetic.
Of course the drop's also got a Mandy-themed egg for all the curb lovers too. The Heroin x Mandy 'Fos Big Egg' graphic features a bloody egg sat in front of a burning church for a serious black metal skateboard that Varg Vikernes would be proud of. Kvlt AF.
Heroin Video City Decks
Heroin have also come through with a new series for all your favourite pros with a similarly film-based theme. The 'Video City' series features artwork from the one and only Funeral French who's come through with a load of bold and colourful graphics with all sorts of edgy imagery.
The series features new pro decks for Tom Day, Craig 'Questions' Scott, and Dead Dave with each board having its own distinct theme. Tom Day's deck has some serious medieval vibes with skeletal nights, axes, dragons, and castles. The Heroin 'Dead Dave Video City' deck takes a more modern approach with an assortment of guns, coffee machines, and telephones. While the Heroin 'Craig Questions Video City' deck looks into the post-apocalyptic future with mutants, radioactivity, and Warhammer 40k-esque chainswords and bolters. So yeah, all of them are pretty hard.
Heroin Egg Shaped Decks
Obviously it wouldn't be a Heroin drop without some of their signature egg shaped decks, and this collection has got more eggs than a big Sainsbury's. We've got eggs in countless different shapes and constructions, from the more flip-friendly 8.38" 'Mini Egg' to the 9.5" symmetrical 'Razor Egg'. No matter how you like your eggs, Heroin have got you covered.
Alongside the all new Eggs, the drop also features some returning bangers who've been blessed with a second run. Filmer and dedicated curb crusher, Ira Ingram, has been treated to his own curb-themed guest egg for the second time. The new Heroin 'Curb Killer II' 10" deck features a reimagining of the OG 'Curb Killer' graphic, with a sinister, hockey mask-wearing egg sat in a car park on top of a freshly destroyed curb. Likewise, the Heroin 'Fried Egg' deck also makes a second coming with the new Heroin 'Fried Egg 2' deck featuring a Frankenstein's monster-esque egg being shocked back to life after being given the electric chair in the last graphic.
Heroin Team Decks
Alongside all these other bangers, we've also got a load of fresh decks for all your favourite Heroin skaters as well as a new team model. Heroin's 'Curb Crusher XL' is an all-new 10.125" whopper that's specially tailored for annihilating carparks. The graphic features a luxurious gold foil background with an image of an average curb skater - a hulking, green, multi-eyed monster - crushing a load of concrete. The Heroin 'Curb Crusher XL' comes in a chunky, fish-tail shape with a squared-off tail and round nose, with the addition of wheel wells to keep that dreaded wheelbite at bay.
Artist, skater and all-round legend, Chet Childress, has got a decadent new deck with a tasteful literary theme. The Heroin 'Chet Childress Gold Buk' deck takes a leaf out of Primitive's book, coming through with a lavish gold foil finish that's guaranteed to make you feel like a baller. What's more the graphic features a reimagining of an iconic photo of legendary poet, Charles Bukowski, by equally legendary skater, Jason Adams, alongside a print of Bukowski's poem, 'Style'. This Charles Bukowski skateboard deck is definitely a must-have for poetry fans.
If poetry ain't your thing then don't worry, we've also got Dead Dave's 'TV Casualty' deck for the more digitally-minded media consumer. The Heroin 'Dead Dave TV Casualty' deck comes in a chunky 10.125" with wheel wells and a square nose and tail. The graphic features a wacky, brightly-coloured design depicting someone looking very excited about a TV that was created by Dead Dave himself.
But most importantly, the drop features legendary pro Deerman of Dark Woods' last ever pro board on Heroin after he decided to return to the woods to again dedicate himself to his barrier-based rituals. The Heroin 'DMODW Return to the Forest' deck is a must-have for fans of this elusive figure, or the Barrier Kult in general, and it's guaranteed to instil within you a potent ability to conquer all manner of vertical crust.
