Fresh load of bangers from the Skate Cafe legends with a load of new film-inspired graphics and a new deck celebrating 10 years of this legendary brand.
Coinciding with the release of their newest video, 'Tenor', Bristol's finest are back with a new collection featuring a solid selection of decks and clothing. As always Skateboard Cafe have come through with some bangin' new designs, including graphics inspired by legendary TV shows and films, like 'The Wire' and 'Heat', as well as the debut deck for their latest pro, Layth Sami.
Skateboard Cafe Decks
Carrying on their tradition of film-inspired skateboard decks, Skate Cafe's latest collection features a graphic from one of the best film's ever made: the iconic American crime drama, 'Heat'. The Skateboard Cafe 'Diner' 8.25" skateboard deck features a shot of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro from the legendary diner scene where the two characters finally come face to face resulting in an intense and dramatic exchange while the pair try to suss each other out. We're proper hyped on this one and it's definitely a must-have for any film nerds.
Alongside the Heat-inspired 'Diner' deck, we've also got a bangin' new graphic for Cafe's resident ledge technician, Dom Henry, featuring a scene from cult TV show, 'The Wire'. The Skateboard Cafe 'Omar' 8.5" deck features a shot from season 5 episode 1 of 'The Wire' with some drug dealers seen running away from Omar while he ominously strolls towards them whistling his signature tune, 'Farmer in the Dell'. Anyone who's watched 'The Wire' will tell you it's one of the best TV shows ever made so it's safe to say this deck's an instant classic. It's also got a nice little Easter egg for the eagle eyed in the shape of the sneaky addition of 'Dom Henry' and 'Cafe' to the sign on the wall.
Skate Cafe's Summer '22 collection also features the debut board for the Cafe's newest pro, the flatground wizard Layth Sami. The Skateboard Cafe 'Layth Sami Barfly' 8.25" deck features artwork from Gaurab Thakali, whose name is now synonymous with Skate Cafe's graphics, depicting a guy sat alone in a shadowy bar enjoying a nice quiet smoke and a pint. Which reminds me, I've got somewhere I need to be...
We've also got the latest pro model from Skate Cafe OG, 'Rancid' Harry Ogilvie. Anyone who follows Harry on Instagram will be well aware that when he's not skulling pints of Guinness or squeezing himself through any orifice he comes across he often indulges in controversial topics like the existence of aliens. So, it should come as no surprise that his latest graphic is equally conspiratorial. The Skateboard Cafe 'Harry Ogilvie Urban Shapeshifting Reptilian' 8.5" deck features a guy covered in tin foil holding up an anti-shapeshifting reptilians placard, which seems pretty on brand for Harry.
Last but not least, the drop also features a new deck celebrating the 10th anniversary of Skate Cafe. It's almost hard to believe it's been 10 years since this British institution was founded but I guess time flies when you're having fun. The Skateboard Cafe '10 Year Anniversary' 8.5" deck features a collage of images from across Skate Cafe's existence including makes, slams and loads of behind-the-scenes antics from all your favourites. Congrats on ten years boys!
Skateboard Cafe Clothing
Alongside all these bangin' decks Skate Cafe have also blessed us with some premium new clothing garments to satisfy all your needs. As usual, almost all the deck graphics are available as tees, including the 'Urban Shapeshifting Reptilian' tee and the 'Barfly' T-shirt and crew, so you can double down on your favourite designs.
Another all-new design for the collection, Skate Cafe's 'Great Place' T-shirt is a feel-good banger that wouldn't look out of place on the wall in a nursery. This wholesome design depicts an idyllic scene with a variety of animals hangin' out together, including elephants, giraffes, walruses and orcas all having a lovely time, alongside the slogan, 'Is this a great place or what...'. We've got the Skateboard Cafe 'Great Place' tee in baby blue and black, but it's also available as an 8.125" deck as well as a bangin' corduroy 6 panel cap.
Last but not least, the Skateboard Cafe 'Stripe' Velour Polo Shirt is a classy new offering that's guaranteed to make you ten times better at bowling. This premium shirt features a black and white striped design with a collar and quarter-zip neck for a sleek aesthetic that wouldn't look out of place in the streets or at a banquet. It's also an essential item for anyone planning on cosplaying as Ollie Lock for halloween.
