Want to get your hands on tees from Cardiff’s most famous art guy?

Posted in General skateboarding with tags , , , , on January 12, 2012 by Jim O

Godmachine, designer of the OG CSC tees and all-round tidy fella, has just dropped a massive stash of tees at Inter-Aid on Crwys Road to make up for stock lost in a recent break-in.

Get down there now to pick up quality metal tinged apparel for peanuts…and give to charity at the same time!

Balls I’m a bit late posting this update…

Posted in General skateboarding with tags , , , , , , on July 13, 2011 by Jim O

…but if you’re in town and you get this…pop into Buffalo. There’s a ‘sneaker’ (trainers to you and I) exhibition on that’s part sponsored by City Surf. Well worth a look.

If you miss this, then there’s also a t-shirt show on tomorrow. The CSC exhibit is posted below for your enjoyment…not strictly speaking a t-shirt, and also possibly the stupidest waste of time in the history of the world…but check it out and maybe take it for a spin at Buffalo tomorrow evening. There will also be exhibits from Godmachine, The Cult of Original Sin and various other Cardiff art masters. See you there!

Official Go Skate Day afterparty @ Buffalo

Posted in General skateboarding with tags , , , , , , , on June 23, 2011 by Jim O

Lots of stuff happening at Buffalo to celebrate finding Pirate Man and bringing him back alive (we hope). If you’re not attending Go Skate Day and are going to see Battles instead…this is the perfect after party for you too!

Crayon skateboards pro edit Cardiff premiere!
    Josh Underwood (DJ set)
    Kevin Barry (DJ set)
    CSC I-pod mashup!
Premiere of ‘Welcome to MIA’ on the big screen.
(A film by Josh Stewart feat Ed Selego, Forrest Kirby, Joel Meinholz, Danny Fuenzalida and more….)

Drinks offers:

    £2.50 Stella 4%
£2 shot of tequila or sambucca
    £2 vodka / gin / whiskey & mixer
    £1.80 small house wine
    £2 bottle of Bud 66.

Everything kicks off at 8pm and it goes on to 3am…so plenty of time to develop a MONSTER hangover for Monday morning. You have to look 18+ to get in obviously.

Big Little City

Also…make sure you get down to the Big Little City exhibition. Godmachine and CSC artist in residence Phil Morgan have painted some walls in their unique styles. Both illustrations are awesome so pop into the Old Library in town and check ‘em out. Lots of other awesome stuff in there too, and there’s a massive lift which is good for pretending you’re an illegal immigrant being smuggled into the country in the back of a lorry.

Gone Skateboarding Day 2011, Cardiff

Posted in General skateboarding with tags , , , , , on June 21, 2011 by Jim O

Please spread the word, this year Cardiff’s Go Skateboarding Day is dedicated to a special cause. CSC’s famous mascot, Boxman was at a BBQ at Pirate Man’s house and he ate a burger that had been left outside for a week and had some weird mushrooms growing on it. THEY SENT HIM INSANE! He flipped out and grabbed Pirate Man and ran into the night, only stopping to grab Pirate Man’s secret treasure stash on his way.

WE NEED YOU TO FIND PIRATE MAN AND TO FREE HIM FROM BOXMAN’S CLUTCHES!

Pirate Man has left a series of clues around Cardiff. This is too much for any one person to handle, so you’ll have to form teams and track them down using your QR code enabled mobile phone, your street skating skills and your unholy intelligence. If you meet at Welsh Offices at 12 on Sunday, Jim O will tell you everything he knows to get you started. City Surf, Buffalo/Beatbox bars, Godmachine and Crayon skateboards will also be trying to help.

WE’RE ALL REALLY WORRIED ABOUT PIRATE MAN!

Whichever team finds him and frees him from Boxman will win Pirate Man’s treasure! There will be an extra prize for the team that makes the best edit of the day…so bring a filmer! Mobile phone footage is fine.

SPREAD THE WORD WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET!

P.S. There will also be other, more traditional, Go Skateboarding Day events happening once we’ve found Pirate Man.

Men with beards

This photo from Go Skateboarding Day taken by Philip Ian Mortimer represents all the highest qualities that the men and women of Cardiff Skateboard Club aspire to. If we ever write a chivalric code of conduct for CSC members, it will be designed to guide us all towards becoming more like Pirate Man.

Phil started a petition to get Cardiff an indoor skatepark, you know we deserve one!

Aziz, winner of the Crayon design a deck comp that ran before Xmas, has got some work in the ‘Designer Violence’ exhibition in Milgi’s on Thursday.

There’ll be some ts and posters and things available to buy on the night if that’s what you want…if you don’t want that, then maybe some beer would suit your needs.
