CSC – Cardiff Skateboard Club, skateboarding from the capital city of Wales

Yesterday’s comp at Dinas Powys was a lot of fun. A big CSC thumbs up to Conor for stepping up as organiser/announcer/judge/prize fund manager/etc…

That little kid with the gigs and the big cap who skates at Bridgend won the kids comp. He’s rad and did loads of stuff. I thnk he got a sticker or something.

With Pirate Man aka Cap’n Jack in attendance it was only natural that Jack Junior, aka Just Jack, aka Mini Wizard should go home with the booty from the under 18s. With each run lasting 5 minutes (!) he skated two back to back in order to secure his sick prize of a box of Heroes. CSC SAYS – MORE CHOCOLATE AS PRIZES AT SKATE COMPS.

By the time the grown-ups comp started the youth workers who turned up with a tent, a BBQ (sick!), and a dodgy drum and bass DJ had f**ked off because it was nearly 5 o clock and they weren’t getting paid to be there any longer. Oh well, we skated to the sweet sound of wheels on tarmac and it ended up being a Rhys vs. Pirate Man final.

Rhys landed more stuff and he’s got loads more tricks than Pirate Man anyway, who can only really do two moves ‘Walking the plank’ (tailslide) and ‘Shiver me timbers’ (wallride). Rhys wins, he wins chocolate, this makes him happy.

We had to go right after this because I was late for a date with my girlfirend, but I’m sure everybody else skated hand-in-hand until a gentle moonlight glow dappled the park with shadows.

P.S. dickhead with the BMX and his lobotomised cousin should probably be given the elbow in future…but it was worth having them there for this…
