Official dates
Ok so to end the arguments, the crying, the whining and the boasting…here are the official dates for the opening of the new park.
Nigel Mansell!
This Friday, 23rd, the park fence will be open for at least an hour so people can skate in the glowing presence of the Archangel Nigel Mansell. Nigel Mansell is a retired formula 1 driver who is now more into skating. Apparently he heard about the new park and couldn’t wait to skate it, made a quick call to his contact at County Hall and before you know it he’s got a private sesh hooked up. He’ll be playing a game of SKATE against anyone who shows up, so get down there for 1.30pm if you want to challenge him!

Tea and biscuits!
The official opening will still be on the 27th.
The park opens at 10:30am and there’ll be free tea and coffee while the council do their essential cheesy photo and handshaking stuff. Everyone should try and show up to this if possible, because from 11:30am onwards the park is fully open and you can skate it for as long as you like!
Awesome skateboarders!
On Sunday, August 1st there’ll be a demo featuring Independent, Venture, CSC, Crayon, and Kill City riders. It’ll be a good chance to check out what’s possible at the park…so don’t miss it.
Oh…and don’t forget…
The biggest event of all…the mighty sweating bull in the field of cud-munching cows…the giant looming robot that threatens to destroy the city…IT’S THE PREMIERE OF THE CSC VIDEO ON JULY 30TH!!
‘Join us’ at Dempsey’s to be part of this epic event.
CARDIFF WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

Yeah park might even be open UNOFFICIALLY over the next couple of days if the council can get someone to remove some of the fence. Rain means it doesn’t make any difference though!

Kenny, Fred and the boys will be there from 2ish, if the fence isn’t down in time they’re gonna go street skating and do some sort of demo at one of the spots.
